Frontier Quick Draw Electronic Target Shooting Set

I was hesitant to purchase this because so many reviewers noted that the toy arrives defective or quickly becomes defective, but I gave it a try anyway. My four year old twins really like this toy. They got it for Xmas (6 weeks ago) and it is still working great. We haven't had any problems. Adults come to the house and enjoy playing with it, and even a few two year olds who come over have tried really hard to play (they seem to have trouble pulling the trigger, but this toy isn't made for a two year old so that doesn't detract from my five star rating). One of my girls plays with this toy six or seven times a day! She loves it! The original batteries I put into the toy at Christmas are still going strong. I paid $40 for this toy. In light of my personal experience with this toy, and that it continues to be a big hit with my young children and their friends, I am glad I purchased it.

Just received second defective unit today. First unit's gun would not make target react ... DOA. Second unit: gun trigger intermittent; 2 of 4 stations - glass breaking sound, but no pin jump action; 1 station worked OK, but intermittent; 1 station work reliably. Talk about wasting energy and resources ... two units worth of raw materials wasted; energy wasted to ship DOA unit two directions in USA; energy wasted to ship two DOA units from China. Twice a sucker ... there will be no third try to see if it is the charm!!

This thing is pretty cool.. I bought it for my boy for Christmas. He's still a bit young (5), but he loves it. I used to have the original tin can alley when i was a kid, so I wanted to get him something similar. It shoots an IR beam that makes a piston pop up and knocks down your targets on the log base. You can use the included plastic targets, or put something up with similar weight. The targets it comes with are actually done well. The gun makes firing sounds as well. I'd recommend you keep the box to store it in when not in use. It was a little pricy, but I think it's worth it. You'll not be dissapointed

Great toy, but the design leaves a little to be desired. As mentioned in other reviews, the pop up action sometimes fails on these. There is a very simple fix. Take out the screws (4 on the back corners and 2 in the battery box) and remove the face plate, being careful of the wires attached to the front of the "log". There is a simple gear and sprocket mechanism that causes the pop up, one set of gears works 2 pop up buttons. Most likely the small gear has fallen from it's shaft. Put it back on the shaft and add a dab of super glue to the end and it will become the "child proof" unit it was intended to be! (until they smash it again)

Extremely disappointed in this product. Very cheap low grade product paid 4 times what it’s worth.The two piece plastic bottles are so poorly molded that they will barely fit together and stand up.And the “pop up “ rods in the log barely “pop up” enough to even move these plastic bottles and cans that only weighs a few grams (an ounce at most) .You have to use a screwdriver to get the on off switch on the gun to even activate.Just more ScAmazon junk…..

Like a few of the reviews, I had to return the first one, it was broken. The replacement came in and I thought it was faulty too, but it just doesn't work well when the kids where playing with their wireless game controls at the same time. It was only shooting up close. Later we tried it again and it shot from a further distance. It is a silly fun shooting game. We enjoy it. Just have to give it a chance.

I got this for my husband for Christmas, and our whole family has had fun using it. We have three boys, the older two (7 and 9) can actually shoot at the targets, our 3 year old enjoys just shooting the gun since it makes an animated cartoonish shooting sound.We do find that to make the targets explode, it's best to shoot at the log right under the target. Would definately buy this toy again.
