Scruff-a-Luvs Real Rescue Pet Soft Toy Interactive Feature Plush, Multi-Colour

Bought as a being good treat under pester power after my 3yo watched an unboxing video on YouTube (they start them young). I think this is a better value purchase than the non- interactive versions as at least after the initial surprise and bathing activity there is a lively toy to keep playing with rather than an overpriced plush. Rather sweet unboxing as the tag is pulled from the battery pack as you take it out and it shivers and makes a noise which induced Awws all round. Do wash with very warm to hot water to get rid of the glue gunk that holds it together. We also used a bit of hair conditioner to soften the fabric and make it smell nice. We dont have a tumble drier but 2 hours by the dehumidifier and 2 mins blast with the hairdryer on the white tummy fur was fine. You can fluff them up nicely with the enclosed comb (see photo left side combed, right side not) but I dont recommend on your lap if you're wearing black due to shedding. Nice that every purchase makes a donation to RSPCA. Not too much packaging and pretty much all cardboard so good to recycle. Quite an expensive toy but on balance almost worth it for the excitement, initial activity and interactive element afterwards.

These were a big hit this Christmas. Luckily my boys (2 and 5) had a different variety, a kitten and a puppy, so there was no confusion. The Scruff a Luv's come in a ball and they shiver/vibrate - you can tell which variety you have before washing as they miaow or woof slightly. When washing, you need to make sure all the slimy netting comes off (that's the best way to describe it) A warning - they take an absolute age to dry, even with a hair dryer. The Scruff a Luv responds well to feeding and tickles, we get happy noises and heartbeat sounds when scratched. We've found that feeding is the best way to wake up your Scruff a Luv if it hasn't been interacted with for a while. However, although the boys played with them well the first few days, they have since been forgotten about...

I brought this for my daughter for Xmas . Opened yesterday. My daughter very excited. Loved Washington no and drying . Lovely fluffy dog . But no sound . Followed troubleshooting advise . But did not work . Daughter very disappointed on Xmas day . We intend to try replacing batteries tomorrow. But very disappointing on Xmas day . Would not advise buying

Personally (as a 37 year old man) I think it’s a bit cheap and nasty, I’d give it 3 stars.It’s not the best quality thing and it doesn’t have that many features, but for younger children that’s probably its charm.My 4 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it, which is all it’s about really. So it gets 5 stars!

A wonderful toy for my 5-year-old daughter- she has enjoyed it a great deal. Great for nurturing, especially as it responds with sounds and movement. Only criticism is that there didn’t seem to be a way to choose which pet you get- you don’t discover what you’ve ‘rescued’ until you uncover it in the bath! My daughter was happy with her kitten, but I know she really wanted a puppy...

My daughter loves this, it was a present for her birthday and she was very happy with it. We got the bowl and washed him to wake him up like it says and even put him on a spin cycle (it says to) makes some cute sounds and very soft once dry. (Won't actually work unless dry)

Waste of moneyThe whole process of bathing it and drying it takes too long and my granddaughter got bored and left me to do itShe is 3 so maybe an older child might have more patience , although I must admit I also got bored as it took forever for it to dry

This is not worth buying. It says it has a lot of different noises. It purrs and meows, that's it. It's not very reactive and to make it purr you have a small area to pet. Complete waste of money.
