indispensable cable but too long
This cable is one of a kind and I searched far and wide to find it, thus it is worth the money ($35) enabling the camera operator to hear the audio from a mic or preamp going into the camera in real time. I'm using my cable between the output of an H-1 Zoom Handy Recorder and the mic input on my Panasonic Lumix FZ-200 camera. Since the H-1 VU meters are typically unlit and at an angle that makes them unreadable and difficult to monitor, the Sescom cable is important. My only criticism of the cable is that it is three times too long and thus gets in the way of a clean, totally efficient rig. I am searching for an electronics place who can shorten the cable to 15 inches are so. If I find such a place, shortening the cable will cost more than the cable. So it goes.

Zoom has a better kit
I got this as a recomendation from my camera man, it works, but ZOOM has an "exterior kit" for Zn4 that includes the same cable, plus pro windjammer and bits and pieces for about $40. I rather get the kit

Worked as advertised. Seems a bit pricey but not much to do about that. I used this to record from either a wireless mic receiver or Zoom h4n to my Panasonic GH2 and audio was clean. This is the only way that I know of to get direct audio into the camera and still be able to monitor the sound.
