These filters are great. They have changed slightly since 2000 and have all the "bugs" worked out of them now. The quality is great now. I suggest getting a second identical filter so you can swap in a cleaned/oiled one instantly. This allows you to clean and dry at your own pace so its done correctly and ready for the next change. These are not the best filters for fine dust like you get from dry dirt roads, I don't recommend them for that. I used oiled foam pod style filters in that application. Paved open highways and roads, winter time, these are great money saving filters.

Fast and got what I wanted

I was really happy when my owner decided to purchase this K&N Air filter. My name is Beaufford and I am a 2000 F250, 7.3 diesel engine with 330,000 miles on me. I was having trouble breathing well since I'm out in Arizona and my owner likes to drive in dusty conditions. He installed the air filter in less than 3 minutes. All he did was open my hood, unclip my airbox, remove the old dirty throwaway filter, and drop in this new, freshly oiled (from the manufacture), cotton filter. The sizing was perfect! He started me up and WOOHEE! It feels great to breathe in that fresh air! The filter lets me get so much more O2 I feel like a new engine! My owner is really happy because I improved my diesel drinking habit by over 1.4 miles per gallon. That doesn't sound like much but when you've got a thirst like mine, it is over a 7% increase! I would recommend this filter to any of your vehicles that want to breathe in the clean air!

I've had K&N filters on my dirt machines ever since I've had them, and always been pleased w/ the price/performance. This was the first K&N filter I've purchased for a road vehicle, though (2001 F250 Diesel SuperDuty). My old filter was fine, but just doing routine maintenance. Always used factory filters in the past. Even though there are stories of improved performance, I wasn't expecting anything.Boy was I surprised! There was a noticeable difference first time out. Now, it didn't turn the truck in to a street racer, but there was definitely an improvement in acceleration and throttle response. I was definitely surprised how much difference it made.I should have bought this filter LONG ago.I've only had it a week, can't yet comment on mileage (don't care that much, I'm more into acceleration anyway).

K&N never fails to satisfy the needs it's designed for. It was a perfect fit and designed with longevity in mind. I've used these filters for years on all my vehicles, and would greatly recommend them to anyone for purchase.

I still have my first K&N filter over 20urs old. Love the product and I will not use anything else. Every vehicle I own has one, street and off-road.
