Camp Chef Somerset 4- Burner BBQ Cart, Catering, Family Reunion, Outdoor Kitchen, Backyard Jumbo Grill Fits 16" Accessories (Orange Flame)

I have two of these. I don’t know why the are no longer available as of July 2025. They are the best setup and actually quite perfect for outdoor cooking. You can use 1 to 4 burners for whatever you can use any combination of the 16” accessories such as griddles, grills, or pizza ovens together and almost any mix of all the above. It is the most versatile outdoor cooking stove I have ever used and it’s a shame that it and all of its specific accessories are not available. I live my portable FTG600 and my permanent FTG900 as well but the Somerset series are great for everything that’s come along for decades. Amazing stove. I use it with the SG90 flat top griddle on the two left burners and the 16" Camp Chef Italia Artisan Pizza Oven on the two right burners. I no longer have a traditional gas grill as cooking meats on the flat top tastes much better in my opinion. If I do want that grill flavor I will fire up my charcoal Weber (very rarely now).When I want to fry or saute using pans I remove the Artisan Pizza Oven as it is a bit easier to lift. I keep this out on my deck. It's main use is to fry foods, bake pizzas and cook large quantities of food on the flat top. My kitchen no longer smells since all the heavy cooking is done outside. Cleaning the Somerset IV is pretty straightforward and simple. Wait til it cools off, then you can lift the burner grate and remove any fallen food debris. I use Lysol/Clorox wipes to clean the aluminum covering and side shelves.Assembly took me about an hour and was fairly straight forward. Upon initial use I noticed the bottom of all my pans and griddle were developing extreme black soot/carbon build up. It got to the point where everything had soot on it and making clean up a nightmare. I googled it and realized that I had to adjust the burner air vents so they produced a blue flame. My flame was completely orange and not burning very hot or efficiently. Once I adjusted the air vents and got the nice blue flame I no longer had soot forming on the bottom of my pans/griddle. The vent adjustments were located behind the face plate of the burner dial controls.This stove is extremely versatile and makes cooking for large groups a simpler chore.I don't recommend you purchase the Camp Chef grill cover as it tears easily and doesn't fit on the stove when you have the Pizza oven installed. Through trial and error I found the perfect grill cover on Amazon: "Classic Accessories Veranda Grill Cover - X-Large, 70-Inch". It covers the entire Somerset IV even with the griddle and pizza oven installed.One more thing, the SG90 griddle has the drain hole on the left side of the grease channel. That means you can't install the griddle over the right two burners since the grease cup will not be able to be installed due to clearances of the aluminum front panel in the middle.

it is a well built unit. My only complaint is that the wind really has an effect on the flame. Since I purchased this to be a permanent backyard cooktop, and not a mobile unit, I am thinking of ditching the cart and building a lower cabinet to set this unit into. If I do that, I will build the back and sides of the cabinet up higher than the grates to serve as a wind block.

Camp Chef have great products but they are screwing it up at lower level. Received damaged stove. One side of the frame is is heavily bent. Heavy item like this needs proper packaging/wooden crate, regular cardboard box is not made for this unit. It should be on LTL delivery due to weight. I don't think they do drop test on any of their heavy products.I had same problem when I got it from Home Depot, So same this time with Amazon. Returning back and getting another one.picture with red border, stove received from Home Depot and other one from Amazon.

Got it Easy Installation. But one of the Knobs was not turning at all. I have used other Campchef products for Years and was little disappointed as out of box one of the control Knobs is not even turning.I will see if Amazon will send a part for it and will return it if not.

Really struggled with whether I needed another kitchen gadget. But this thing is awesome! Now I can sear at high heat when I'm going to cook something sous vide without setting off smoke alarms, splattering the kitchen with grease, etc. Well made, quality construction. HOT burners... rarely need full blast.The bbq grill that sits on top of half of this also works great... gets much hotter than a regular gas grill. I'm waiting on my pizza oven now.... should be here any day!Best of all, I had a minor issue with the front panel not matching up to the holes in the frame quite right. I contacted customer service and they asked me to shoot a picture and send it to them attached to an email... which I did. They then bent over backwards to make it right. I'm not even going to be specific about how they compensated me for "my inconvenience," because I don't want to put them on the spot for having to repeat their generosity every time there's an issue... suffice it to say that I believe they did more than they needed to... and told them so at the time... but they insisted. I'd read in other reviews that their customer service was great, and now I've personally been a recipient of it.Great product + great customer service = just go ahead and order one... you know you want to!
