The ProSensor 710 in Pink (with all the same great benefits as the ProSensor 710 in yellow) incorporates innovative stud sensing technology that instantly finds hidden studs. No sliding is required. This patent-pending detector senses the wall in thirteen locations simultaneously, then immediately illuminates the display elements that are in front of a stud. The ProSensor 710 is faster, less error prone and more accurate than other products on the market. It is the easy way to find studs.

Not the time saver I had hoped for
In the 40 or so years I have been using stud sensors I have never really found one that worked reliably. After my last Zircon sensor died on me I decided to buy this because of the great reviews. While it works a little better than the Zircon, I have not found it to be error free when indicating where studs are. Many times four or five adjacent LED's will light up indicating you might have a double stud only to find there is nothing back there. I don't know why it does this. I am sensing studs behind 5/8" drywall which I had framed previously so I know approximately where the studs and double studs should be. So it is not the reliable time saver I had hoped it to be. I still end up getting out the tape measure and looking at the 16" on center measurements to see if I can verify that there might be a stud back there. And I still use a small nail to test that location for a stud and its center. There's a new stud sensor out called the Walabot that uses sonic waves instead of capacitor sensing but at over $250 I haven't decided if I want to spring for that yet. Maybe if I was using a stud sensor more than a few times a year I would give it a try but for now I will just muddle along with this Franklin.

The only stud finder that truly works
I bought a pink one, so that other contractors wouldn't be inclined to steal it, and coincidentally saved $5. It works very well. I would ACTUALLY recommend this product to other contractors. It even finds the thin diagonal supports in the walls. If there are any, that is. One note, it senses metal rings. I have to use my right hand, or my wedding ring will throw it off.In 21 years of doing this, I have never had a stud finder that was accurate, until this one.

I like it being in pink
Works well enough. I like it being in pink, much harder to lose. We have used these at work so I bought one for myself. Does not detect pipes or electric and does not do well deep scanning or on metal studs, but for standard wood and drywall up to 5/8, it's very good and accurate. It's so easy to read and accurate that I actually am willing to give up all the fancy features of other finders. Sometimes simple is best.

Nobody ever steals a pink tool.
I love the broad head and its so much easier to locate a stud with. You aren't just looking for an edge you can see the whole stud. Works extremely well.I got into pink tools 25 years ago when I bought a pink pen out of desperation. Needed a pen for work was always losing them. People would return that pen time and time again, I still have it. I started buying pink tools as well and all of sudden my tools stopped walking off.I have come to love PINK tools

I recommend doing a couple of readings to practice and also ...
Works as described. Same brand as a local contractor that we use. You need to take care of it and don't drop it. Just as you would with any other electronic tool. As others had noted it is a density reader and does not distinguish between materials. Reads only a few inches deep. I recommend doing a couple of readings to practice and also while using it before drilling or cutting. I chose the pink one to distinguish it as mine. Not a contractors that might have been left sitting around.

Best stud finder ever
Like other reviewers I have used a typical stud finder that you have to slide back and forth, adjust the sensitivity, and still end up with uncertain results. So this time when I had a need to locate ceiling joists in order to hang some shop lights, I was entrigued with this unique tool. All the positive reviews convinced me to spend the extra money and get it. It worked like a charm right out of the box. No sensitivity adjustments needed. It is easy to use and is the best tool for the job.Reviewer Nicole, I am a guy and I bought the Pink model because it was $5 cheaper. So your pink tools are not "safe" from me :-).

Great stud finder for older plaster walls.
Totally satisfied. this is the best stud finder I've used with plaster walls in older homes. Even though it's not guaranteed to work on all lathe and plaster walls it is much easier to discern studs with this finder when the going gets tough based on the simple and effective display. It's what all stud detectors want to be but can't because it's patented. Buy the pink one, pink is the new yellow, haha.

I am so happy with the service received by the manufacturer
My initial purchase was DOA, but I bought it as a present and missed the return window by the time we found out - I contacted Franklin directly, and they sent me a replacement immediately and paid for the return shipping of the defective one. I am so happy with the service received by the manufacturer, and the working product works so well, and because it is pink I can easily find it. I am a man. Pink is the new black.
