Autodesk Maya 2019 for Novices (Learn By Doing)

Be aware that the exercise files for this book are not available. If you go to the book's website and try to access the files, there is nothing there except an error code. However, as far as I can tell, the exercise files are merely the completed models as they should look like after you finish the tutorials--so it is not necessary to have them in order to work through the tutorials. But given that the book publisher states that these should be available is frustrating, not to mention very unprofessional. I contacted the book publisher via email (they are in India) to request the exercise files, and, as I expected, they didn't bother to reply. I didn't send the book back because, as I said, you can still go through the exercises without them. Regarding the content of the book, it is a very cursory discussion of the program, being much shorter than most books on the Maya program; but given that there are very few books out on Maya 2019 now (I think there is only one other book on Amazon (Autodesk Maya 2019: A Comprehensive Guide Paperback by Prof. Sham Tickoo) I decided to keep it. For whatever reason, the updated Maya software is not supported with extensive textbooks, as the previous versions had, such as the Mastering Autodesk series, which stopped being published in 2015. This is something I think that Autodesk needs to address. Their "manual" is available online, and is a mishmash of information, only understandable to someone who already knows the program, and merely needs some information on a specific function, versus someone learning the program for the first time.
