This book was an amazing study tool and asset to me for having a first time pass on the FP-C exam! The questions to practice in the book are the same in difficulty compared to the FP-C and are worded very much alike. 3 questions on my exam were almost word for word identical to ones I practiced in this text. Will Winfield also makes the text funny, you will catch yourself engaged and laughing while reading. He also includes great study tips and ways to remember important information. I also used Orcid Lopez Back to Basics book which was a good resource however I found it to be too easy compared to the FP-C questions and not very similar. The ACE SAT is definitely a great book and if you pass the questions in this book you will most likely pass the FP-C!Ryan W. NRP, CCEMTP, FP-C

Succesful FP-C Prep +++
Paired with the Wingfield FP-C Video series, I recently passed my FP-C exam on 10/1/18. I reviewed the book twice until I not only knew all the answers, but more importantly, why the answers were what they were.I also reviewed "Back to Basics" which was also helpful (I find it helpful to study at least two different authors which, for me, gave a well rounded perspective.)Lastly, I reviewed Flight Bridge. Again a slightly different perspective, but helpful.Lastly, go online and review Quizlet Flashcards "FP-C" You could make your own, but there were several recent sets that were very useful.All in all....I over-studied. I thought the exam was pretty easy (definitely not because I smart)....only because I invested the necessary time and $$ to be successful the first time.Hope this helps. Be diligent, be thorough.....PREPARE :)

Forget the CCEMTP; this is what you need!
Let me start off by saying that I don't typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this book. This was the single best investment I made on my path to obtaining the FP-C. This tiny little book has at least twice the information that the entire CCEMTP course delivers. I've read it cover-to-cover at least 3 times so far and would have read it more by now if it hadn't been stolen by an unruly medic (just ordered my second copy). I purchased several other "FP-C prep" books, including the ASTNA Patient Transport: Principles and Practice, which the test is based off of. While the ASTNA book has a wealth of information, it is mind-numbingly boring, which resulted in me shelving it for use only as a reference. The other "FP-C prep" books that I purchased were for the most part good books, but did not contain even a fraction of the information that the ACE SAT does, and in one or two minor cases presented information that directly contradicted with what was outlined in the ACE SAT (when in doubt, go with Wingfield). Additionally, the content is presented in a way that makes the sometimes challenging concepts fairly easy to read through. Wingfield's dry humor caught me off guard several times and even managed to make me laugh out loud once or twice. I highly, highly recommend purchasing the accompanying ACE SAT videos which are on Wingfield's website. The book and the videos together are the ONLY resources I recommend to people who ask me for advice on how best to prepare for the FP-C exam.Winston Walker, A.S., NRP, CCEMTP, CCP-C, FP-C

Helpful Study Tool
This book was a great resource while preparing to write the Aeromedical exam. It presented the topics in a clear and easy to understand format. Very good mnemonics to help memorize certain definitions. Not all is applicable if your from Canada, as the equipment, drugs and protocols are different, however the physiology of flight applies everywhere. On the whole, this was a great study guide.

Must Have for FP-C
Very well written and informative resource for passing the CFRN, or FP-C. This text is a must have when preparing for the FP-C because it covers all the subject matter on the test. The main difference with this book is that you will feel like the first day of EMT school after your done with the self assessment tests, but in the rationale you'll understand A&P of the human disease process so much better. Having taken the FP-C twice, I'll say that it's the most challenging and mind bending certification a paramedic will ever take, EVER! The test tips in the rationale section are extremely helpful, but the question bank for the FP-C and CFRN are in the thousands.This book will help you dance around what rationale they are looking for in the questions on the actual test. Read this book about three times at least before challenging one of the certification exams. Good Luck and remember the FP-C is the absolute apex of a Flight Paramedic.

Great Book. If you are looking to pass the cfrn this book will be a great asset to you. The questions are tough but if you can make it through then scoring around 70% you will pass the cfrn no problem. I passed a few months ago with a score of 125. Get to studying!

A "Must Have" for the FP-C
Do not attempt the FP-C without this book. Will Wingfield does a marvelous job of illustrating the thought process necessary for critical care exams, with some typical paramedic humor included. While I can't say I wouldn't have passed without it, this book made the test a lot easier. The answer rationales went beyond just telling you why the correct answer was correct, but also told you why the wrong answers were wrong. One of the biggest help points are the test tips included. These tips bring the major topical points to light in a clear concise manner. When I tested, I encountered very few questions that had not been topically addressed in the book. Highly recommended.Johnathan McEwen, AAS, BS, MS, NREMT-P, CCEMT-P, FP-C

Worth the money
Between this book and a little review on IAMED I passed my fp-c exam first time. I've heard people say that this outdated but there are some pretty similar questions in this book and on the test and it really helps you understand the answers with good explanation.
