Haven’t used it yet but the quality seems to be great! Came with its own tool! Clicker is loud! Say goodbye to those pesky shark alarms! Can’t wait to take it out and try to catch some Monsters! I’ll update my rating after my fishing trip but so far I’m in love with this reel! At this price I don’t think you can beat it!******update*******Took the reel to padre island nation seashore and fished for two days. Unfortunately the gears controlling the line guild are plastic and one of them stripped out and my line guide would no longer move back and forth :(I contacted for a exchange and had my new reel the next day. Might try and find brass replacement gears for the ones that are plastic(only 2 of them) and do a little upgrade. Overall I’m really impressed by the price and how well the reel worked! I landed my first shark with this reel! The 4ft per turn of the handle really helped me get the shark in pretty quick! Took off a star because of the plastic gears. They should offer a upgrade kit with those same gears made out of brass.

Smooth quiet, and well built best describes the salt water reel. So good I got a 3000 too! As smooth as any big game salt water heavy fish I have and that includes Ambassadeur, Shimano, and Penn. Its a well built and sturdy reel that can catch the toughest shark or bill fish. The only draw-back is the weight. Its a bit heavy, but I still give it a high recommendation. It proved impossible to thread line from the spool through the level wind eye, not enough room. I had to thread mono through from the front, tie it to my spooled line then pull it back through. This is a design flaw that really should be corrected. I do like the reel though. Tried actual fishing! Perfect operation and casts a country mile on a 7.5 foot cat fish rod.

So far so good. I spoiled this up with prob 450 yards or so of 100lb braid and it being my first casting reel for sturgeon I went and practiced in the field with a 10 oz pyramid sinker. Paired with the 12' ugly stick big water, I was casting 80-100yds (and could get further easy) first cast without any backlash even though it is a trolling reel technically. For around 100 bucks it's a great deal. The clicker is loud and there is nothing loose or cheap feeling. I have had zero problems so far. Drag worked great. Gotta crank it down tight to get any good resistance (for 150-300 lb sturgeon that is) on the drag but once it starts getting tight, it tightens up quickly so be careful. I would buy more of these for sure. Lucky to get a good deal like this.

The Salis X is a beautiful beast! The 5000 is shown here next to my Chaos XS 50...Reel is smooth as can be. I know that it is not a *Casting Reel* it is a *trolling reel* but I just had to try it out..I spooled it with 80lb black Lunker Braid..It held the entire 547yrd spool. I mounted it on an 8' Heavy action RL SuperCat..I had my normal 3oz lead and cut bait rig on and let it fly.. To my pleasent surprise it was a perfect 75 yes cast..Of course, being an unexsperienced Baitcaster I wadded up the next cast, popped the 80lb braid and slung the rig and bait across the lake 😱.. This is waay more reel than I will probably ever need,but I just had to have one.. Someday I hope to put it to the deep water big fish test.. If I had gotten the 3000, most definitely I would put in my regular, bank fishing Catfish rigs.PISCIFUN ROCKS!

This is a nice reel it’s pretty big installed it on my rod today looks great and heavy duty

I really like the line capacity of this reel. I'm taking it to Alaska next week to fish for halibut, I'll let you know how it works out and I dont think ill be disappointed.

I like the line retrieval rate. I use it for bottom fishing at 300 ft, and halibut at 400 ft.

My husband used to own a shrimping boat and is an avid fisherman. He knows the quality and the normal cost of a reel of this caliber. When I told him I purchased it on Amazon he was worried. When I told him how much I paid for it he tried not to hurt my feelings because he knew I was trying. I felt like I had maybe read too much into the reviews and might have been hustled. When he got it in the mail he ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!! It's way larger than I anticipated clean and sporty now it's his favorite reel. No lie the price you would pay for the same quality elsewhere would be tripled. This was a great buy no gimmicks.
