Have an area too far from the house to drag a hose - using these to water has been a tree life saver! I'm planting native trees on part of our propterty and these have kept every one of them alive. I've planted serviceberries, river birch, Yakima cherry, dogwoods and a Southern magnolia. No hand watering, just let the natural rain refill them. The soak time for initial fill is several hours so planning ahead for that is critical. Just placed my 4th order for more of these.

The massive project I was working on (dry creek bed and moving 100+ tons of dirt and rock) did not allow me to plant trees as early as I wanted. The spring rain had stopped and the heat was in full-force by the time I could prepare the locations for my new trees. I soaked these overnight and put them around the trees as I planted them. I covered them with pine straw and have not disturbed them since. It has rained a few times and I water all of the plants every few days, but I know that these have given my trees a good head start. There is new growth on all of them (August) and the constant moisture has helped them get accustomed to their new home much better than anything I've used before.

Used 3 of the 4 watering rings around some apple trees that I planted in Fall of 2021. It took a while for them to completely absorb water. They were quite heavy and a little difficult to maneuver when filled with water. However, once in place they worked well to keep my trees from drying out & filled with water automatically from melting snow & rainfall. During a dry spell, I placed a hose by the bag & let it absorb water slowly from it. My only complaint is that 1 of the 3 was defective - at the end of this past summer of 2022, it appeared half-deflated & wouldn't refill, no matter how much water I poured on it. It may have ruptured on the bottom side & lost the gel beads that absorb water. I won't be able to check this until next year to confirm that is the case, since the trees are at our lake cabin that is closed up for the winter.

I am the lead landscaper at a resort. For the past two years I have ordered numerous plant diapers because they are effective in keeping plants alive in hot weather. I recommend this item to everyone.

I have purchased these previously and they are amazing! This is my second purchase. They have been wonderful for ensuring our newly planted trees are continuously receiving the amount of moisture they need to become established. I had one slight issue with receiving the incorrect amount of mats and the company was amazing and very quick to respond. We are putting in several new trees and will be ordering a mat for each one as we go. They are also great as a weed block and perfect for covering up the area that we put fertilizer sticks in the soil for the new trees that my puppy always seems to find and tries to dig to find and eat them. With these, she doesn’t try to find them. I’ve seen other reviews that say they are expensive. Yes, perhaps. But they are SO WORTH IT. I’m looking forward to purchasing many more.

Of two minds about these. I've ordered 8 total between two occasions. 6 have worked flawlessly, 2 were leaking on arrival. The two leaking ones were in the second order. Not sure if they have gone to using a different manufacturer as there are subtle differences in the style of the top of the bag.

We planted oak trees this year and after dragging the hose out to each one individually, I decided it was time to find a better solution.After reading the reviews, I was sold on these tree watering bags. Not only do they provide a weed barrier, they can also refill themselves with the rain.Just make sure to check them if you haven't had rain in a while!

I bought the product for some trees that I planted on conservation land about an hour out. It’s tough to get there to water. After following the instructions precisely, I noticed 2 of the 4 diapers swole and broke open during the soak phase. I folded and installed anyway, but lost a good bit of the “gel” that was inside. I wish I would’ve taken a pic, but I’d advise to watch closely and have some duct tape handy. I’ll update this review as I see how they work, but unimpressed with the quality so far.
