Pretty Darn Impressive!
We just used this on our 5-day Disneyland trip. It says it blocks out 94% of the light but idk, it seemed lighter than that in there but seriously do not let that deter you from getting this; even if your baby needs it pitched black you seriously need to try this. For reference, we used this with a 16month old baby who NEEDS pitch black dark. We used a lot of suggestions from the “taking Cara babies” program and she’s had her own sleeping space with it very dark since 5 months old. Since 12 months old she has had her own bedroom and honestly needs it dark/very quiet with a sound machine to sleep. But she is naturally a very good sleeper. With this amazing invention she slept right next to all of us still talking (in whispers) and making noise. We also would keep a couple small lights on. I didn’t even think this would work well which is why I bought this one over the more expensive crib cover contraption….but I would buy this one again and again.I was also very worried about it being too stuffy. Our baby has asthmatic tendencies and some small breathing issues so I was worried about the stuffiness. We kept it a little cooler and didn’t dress her as warm, but honestly it wasn’t stuffy AT ALL. Super breathable.Seriously love this and highly recommend! She slept through the night without a single problem in our hotel room all week because of this.

Works perfect
I bought a dupe originally but ended up getting the original. This fits my mini crib great and helped my baby sleep train/sleep through the night. I highly recommend this. We’ve taken it on trips too to use over the pack n play- game changer. I don’t know why there’s reviews expressing concern about the breathability of the fabric. I’ve had no issues with that at all. My only critique is that the material sags on top more than I’d like. The dupe i originally got had a tighter fit. The Velcro straps at the bottom are very secure.

Lifesaver When Sharing a Room With Baby
I was a bit nervous when my husband had only booked a room for us and our 7 month old for his grad school reunion weekend. We have not shared a room with her for about 3 months. I was not looking forward to skulking around in the dark and/or dealing with poor night sleep again. After doing some online research, I stumbled upon this. After reading the reviews, I thought I'd try it.First of all, this shade is made to try to accommodate several play yard sizes. It won't fit every one perfectly. Do what others recommend and bring binder clips to adjust the fit so that the top doesn't sag. I did, and while the hotel pnp is much smaller than the graco ones, I just used the binder clips to adjust. If you've ever traveled with a baby, you know that improvising with what you have around you is key. That and be prepared to be surprised.Second, it is a bit weird to zip your kid into this. I didn't think it would work (I thought she would freak out), but it did! In fact, she was able to get to sleep quicker and more calmly than when we've put her in a darkened room.Third, because this encloses the pnp, it will be warmer in there because there is fabric wrapped around. If you're in a place that has AC, it shouldn't be an issue. My baby is a heater, and she was fine sleeping with this. It's light and easy to pack. I used it to help pad my pump packed in luggage.I love this thing! Can't wait to use it on future trips!

Very useful, some safety concerns
I was travelling with my 7-month-old for 3 weekends out of 4. The first two weekends, we set up the pack and play in a guest bedroom of a family home, put the baby down to bed as usual around 6-7pm, and quietly left the room until it was time for the adults to go to bed. However, the third trip involved 3 hotel rooms. There wasn't really anywhere for the adults to go after bedtime. Our baby is used to sleeping in his own dark, quiet bedroom, and we were concerned that we might interfere with his sleep.I heard about the SnoozeShade from online parenting groups (Precious Little Sleep especially). I thought it might be worth a try. The first two nights I left the zippered top open with a monitor so that I could see how the little one was doing at night. But I could never find a good angle with the monitor, so I ended up zippering it the third night. Baby slept much better than he did on the first two nights! We also fit in one nap in the pack and play at my grandmother's house, and that was also a success thanks to the pack and play.I am giving only 4/5 stars for two main reasons: camera angles and fit.First, I have found that my baby only sleeps well in a pack and play if I use a 3rd party mattress over the hard padded bottom layer that the manufacturer otherwise offers. The mattress is sized to fit the pack and play exactly. However, this is technically unsafe since baby could suffocate in between the mattress and the side of the pack and play. Some babies have even gotten underneath the mattress and suffocated. It is rare, but it is one of those unsafe sleeping situations you are supposed to avoid. Now, SnoozeShade is NOT responsible for my mattress use. However, the SnoozeShade does make it more difficult to monitor baby's sleep environment, even if the top is left unzippered. I don't know how to solve this problem. I did try avoiding using a mattress in the pack and play by renting a safety-approved crib, but all my attempts at renting a crib fell through. My baby will not sleep on the hard floor of the pack and play without it. We do need to travel with the baby, and he does need to sleep somewhere. I feel that using the SnoozeShade increases the risk while baby is sleeping in the Pack and Play. Two, our SnoozeShade did not fit our Pack and Play tightly. It might be because our version of the Pack and Play has rounded sides, like a bassinet. I think there should be added features to the SnoozeShade (like velcros at the corners) so that parents can tighten the SnoozeShade around the Pack and Play. We weren't affected by this, since my baby doesn't yet stand up and didn't try pulling on it, but I am afraid of what might happen if he did.
