Fodor's Greece: with Great Cruises & the Best Islands (Full-color Travel Guide) Paperback – April 14, 2015

I bought this travel book to research Greece after I had to cancel my trip to Italy with my sister. What I loved the most about this travel book was that it gave me hotel recommendations based on different price points and at least 2 of those hotels were already on my list so that was reassuring. It also gave sample itineraries based on the length of your stay which is very helpful. I highly recommend this to everyone who wants to visit Greece...especially first timers.

Absolutely great guide. Didn't want to rely on internet while traveling abroad and this was very useful to physically carry around. Planned a trip to Athens and then because of this book was confident enough to be able to plan a spontaneous overnight trip to Kalambaka.

Fodor's always has a great publication. We are headed to Greece and will keep this with us on our road trip and island hopping!

Just returned from a trip to Greece, and I used my five-year-old Frommer's guide much more often than this guide, which, in retrospect, was not worth the heft. Good very basic general overview of locations, but this guide would probably be more useful for deciding where to go in Greece before a trip than for practical, on-the-ground info in country. To be fair, there are so many wonderful sites and sights in Greece that any comprehensive guide is going to suffer by trying to touch on it all. For Athens and The Peloponnese, Rick Steves is far superior. His guide also includes Santorini, Mykonos, and Hydra islands. Wish I'd taken island-specific guides to Crete and Rhodes instead of lugging this marginally useful tome.
