Great textbook, especially for great examples, research references, and case studies!
I was required to read this book for a class. Very-research oriented which I appreciate, and also has a lot of examples. Things can get confusing sometimes because there is a lot of information packed into each chapter, but the summaries are very well written and help wrap up each chapter very concisely. Learned a lot!

This is a very nice book, sadly for me
This is a very nice book, sadly for me, I thought it would cover Universal Design as applied to Interior Design. It covers a lot, from graphic design to ads, etc. So a very nice book but know- it is NOT an interior design book.

A comprehensive, well-illustrated resource for students, design professionals and the general public , incorporating current thinking on universal and sustainable design for all.

I found this to be out of date, photos ...
I found this to be out of date, photos are dated and some do not demonstrate universal design. When we consider UD we should keep in mind people not just design. There was little demonstration of an awareness or understanding of diverse physical and psychological disability. It is more a formulaic design focused rather than people focused approach.

Excellent source of information about inclusive design (universal design)
I use this book as a critical reference source for my graduate seminars in architecture (although it would also be very useful for landscape architecture and planning). A much wider audience, not necessarily education based, would also find it informative. It addresses both physical and social inclusion (thus being inclusive, itself).

A great introduction and understanding
This book is a must for anyone interested in Universal Design and is also great for anyone interested in Urban design and accessibility. The book gives a very introduction to the origins of Universal Design and how it is a useful concept in order to provide accessibility for a wide range of people. It demonstrates how Universal Design is not only beneficial for people with imapirments, but also for people who are short, tall or fat.It goes over Universal Design's seven principals and how each one can be used to create an inclusive built environment. The book is easy to understand and is full of useful diagrams which further your understanding of how Unovesal Desigh is beneficial.
