Must have for SDDC and Cloud deployments
I began reading this just a few days ago and am finding it well written, organized and a must have for SDDC and Cloud deployment. Understanding that the VMware vCloud product line is a suite of components that can be assembled to deploy a Cloud solution to meet the needs of any customer whether they want to deliver IaaS, PaaS, Saas, etc is essential. Depending on what one needs be it isolation for multiple tenants or departments, self service portal, governance, and security there are a plethora of component items to meet each need.

From a great intro to vCloud to how to do nearly everything
VMware vCloud Architecture Toolkit (vCAT) is one of the most fascinating books I've been able to get my hands on in a long time. One of the technologies that has fascinated me for a long time has been VMware's vCloud. This book is a great introduction and an explanation of all of the different types of technologies that VMware has, and, beyond that, gives you a VERY long list of what topics, items, and questions that you want to ask your users and yourself in order to get the most effective and promising vCloud solution implemented. The chapter by chapter breakdown of the book gives you a great summary of each of the different categories that you would want to learn about (Software tools, Implementation examples, etc.) and also gives you nice, simple to read checklists for how to take care of each of several different tasks. If you want to start working with vCloud but are not sure where to start, this book isn't only a great place to start, it'll get you through a large part of the process. I highly recommend this - get it today.

Excellent book
Building a IaaS cloud at work. I learned stuff just flicking through this book! I have the PDF version but prefer paper manuals, and at 700+ pages this is a really good investment. Well thought out, clear. Pretty heavy too.... ;0)
