The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters Kindle Edition

The image of the print is horrible!. I looks like they made photo copies of the actually book pages and uploaded that for this Kindle book. Don't buy it. order a print of the book. It is so distracting that I can't read it. Which is said because I loved the book and reference it often to friends, so I thought "Hey, I'll get a Kindle copy and have it with me to reference." Oh no, that didn't work. It's really too bad. I hope someone reads this and changes it.

Quite short (though nicely done).But nonetheless a helpful reminder that my efforts to help others, however little appreciated sometimes, may be significant links in chains of human inputs.* Though the book focuses only on positive 'butterfly effects', it also reminds me that the same principal applies to my careless words and deeds.____________________* ...human inputs typically done FREELY— as in 'free will' — not deterministically.

One of my all-time favorites. Andy Andrews is an inspiring author. This book helps you see how valuable a single life is ... and how you may not know how valuable until (and unless) you can back up the years of history and see the effect your every day decisions and words make far beyond your ability to calculate.The illustrations are lovely. It makes a great gift item.

Short read that will leave you feeling great. The idea is that good, seemingly small things that we do cause a ripple like effect... resulting in some amazing outcomes as our influence touches others lives, who then affect others for good and it goes on. I give this to our high school graduates each year and it is a tradition I plan to continue. Thank you Andy Andrews... I love you other books, too!

I read this to my grandson when he was 7 or 8. Some of the story details are complex; I thought he'd lose interest. I even asked him at one point if he wanted to continue. He did! The various historical events in the book all come down to one message - in my grandson's words, not mine - "actions have consequences". He has since then explained this to at least two of his school teachers (grades 2 and 3), who had not read the book. His older sisters hear this lesson from him, too, on a regular basis. This year it was one of the books I gave him for Christmas. He was so excited to "have his own copy"! He will soon be 12 years old. This book is a keeper.

This is an excellent explanation of why every life is important. Illustrations of small contributions that ultimately resulted in meaningful changes bring the point home. We have no way of knowing what contribution we are making to the whole tapestry of life and history, but we can be sure that our lives are an important part of the whole.

This book discusses the impact of every choice of every person in the world, doing so as representative of the human version of the butterfly effect. This book, easy to read, makes a big impact in regard to thinking about purpose and the role each of us plays in shaping the world now and in the future. If ever such a book was needed it is now. I happily assert that this book is always needed. Read it. Keep it close at hand. Read it again. Often.

I keep a few books on hand and give it as a graduation present, along with a card and money, to every high school graduate in the family. I love the lesson it teaches that every thing we say and do has a ripple effect way beyond ourselves. We need to use good judgement and make wise choices because each of us have a life that matters and impacts others. Great wisdom told in an easy to understand story.
