Java Methods: Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures Second AP edition

People, currently while reading this book I've noticed it's really bad in format in the sense that it doesn't tell the purpose of some of the things your typing into your code until about...ehh chapter six. It also expects you to know all the things that they tell you about passed chapter 5. Other than that the book has been decent in what it provides to teach the students about the beginning of programming.

The book is very interesting, you may don't like this book first, but you actually will love this book when you spend time to learn it. My kids got a 5 after using this book.

bought this book for a capable/starting HS family member---it was recommended by a IT guy for the AP type of student---like any technical book,it requires time and investigation regarding the person who posses it------ Jim

That's book is very useful, It have lot of Ex. My teacher use that to teach us and I realy get lot of improve. Thank for that book and hope it getting less expensive.

Great book to learn and teach APCS.

I have been using this book (including its earlier version) for 12 years. It teaches the essential concepts in computer programming, and goes over and above what is needed for the APCS exam. It provides a course rather than a review. Much of the narrative is in the form of a conversation, which even my most talented programming students find engaging. The concepts are introduced in a logical and comprehensive manner, which builds on previous sections and provides lasting understanding. It is an extremely important text for students wanting to succeed on the APCS exam and further their studies in computer science.

Great reference book, but it does not have the new case studies in it.
