Kittycentric Cat Litter Mat with Scatter Control, X-Large, 35.4" L x 23.5" W, Dark Grey

I had gone through two other litter mats (both terrible) before getting this one. I've had it for about 5 months now and so far it's fared pretty well. Some pros/cons/1. This doesn't completely eliminate scattered litter but it does help. I haven't found anything that completely gets rid of litter scatter. I still need to sweep daily around the litter box. But without the mat it's a whole lot messier, so this definitely helps a lot.2. Because of the way the mat is made, it's hard to get rid of the litter that is stuck on the mat. I found the easiest way is to just take the mat outside and shake it like a rug and all the litter bits will fall off. Easier than vacuuming. This isn't really a pro or con, just a tip.3. If your cat leaks into the mat, it does protect your floors. I'm not sure how well it would do if your cat peed entirely on the mat, but my cat accidentally peed a little bit on it and my floor were fine.4. Looks attractive!I have washed this once so far when my cat had an accident and it held up well. But I'm not sure how many times you will be able to wash it without it falling apart, as mine got a small tear in it from washing it. I took it outside and put some dish soap on it and then used the hose to rinse it clean. I let it dry in the sun and it took two days for it to dry completely.Overall this is better than the other 2 litter mats I previously tried but its not perfect. I would recommend because it does a good job but I don't know how long it will last if you plan on washing it.If you found this review helpful please vote yes. Thank you!

This is a surprisingly great product. I purchased based on rave reviews here on Amazon and have not been disappointed. I've had kitties for many years and have tried many other litter mats, and they helped a little. Let me just say that this one is immensely better. It captures at least 90% of stray litter and keeps it off the floor. At the end of the week I didn't even need to sweep. After 2 weeks I didn't see any litter on the floor, but swept anyway and found about a teaspoon or two of litter. This mat is soooooo well worth the money. It's very soft and a neutral gray color. No more crunch crunch YUCK when you walk in the bathroom. No more scurrying to sweep before company comes. OK, only two negatives, both very minor and temporary. First, the mat has a strong odor when you first take it out. I let mine air for a day or two just so the smell wouldn't turn off my cat. I prob should've given it another day or two of airing, because on his first trip to potty after putting it down, my cat sniffed it and walked the other way. I was worried he'd decide to go behind my potted plant. But he didn't. He came back later and was fine. So just open it up and let it air 3 or 4 days just to make sure the temporary odor doesn't deter your cat. Second, the company is a bit aggressive at soliciting reviews. Before I even had the mat they'd emailed me twice. Then before I got to use it they were emailing again. I am glad the company is keenly interested in pleasing their customers, and it is a WONDERFUL product, but they do need to chill out and give people a chance to actually receive and use the product before following up. One email would be sufficient. That said, I haven't received any further emails and I really do love this mat (and how it keeps the bathroom floor so clean & the fact that that one little chore is no longer on my weekly list). My cat likes it, too.

I purchased this item because of all the other positive reviews. Our kitty litter box is in a room with hardwood floors and I really needed something to stop the litter from going everywhere. Overall, this does a GREAT job! You can actually see how much litter gets caught in the fibers and we've noticed much less on the floor. Of course there is still some, but nothing like we used to have with our old carpet-like kitty litter mat.My only gripe is that it doesn't completely stay in place, even on hardwood floors. We use a rubbermaid tote with a hole cut in the side as our litter box (you can find tutorials online) because our cat is a huge tomcat. So this mat is placed right at the opening and part of the bin is on top of the mat both to secure it and to make sure no litter gets on the floor. Sometimes our cat will paw at the mat and one of the corners comes up. If this mat didn't have something securing it and you have a cat who will paw at it, I think it would easily turn over on itself and get litter everywhere. I would suggest using some sort of double-sided sticky tape to better secure it to the floor.Overall this is a great product for the price. It catches 90+% of the litter that spills out and gets caught in kitty toes

The Kittycentric Cat Litter Mat is the double edged sword of kitty litter mats. On the one hand its the best at catching particles of litter and on the other it "sucks" at being vacuumed. You have to go over and over with the bare hose if there's any hope of getting most of the litter out. It's very durable and a good size for a large litter box. It doesn't slide around on the floor at all but my cat did learn how to fold back one of the sides. No big deal. What is a bit of a big deal is when she carries a little surprise (poop) out of the litter box with her and it lands on or is rubbed on to the mat. My previous mat was perfect for wiping it away. With this one, if it gets in the grooved parts (which is nearly all of the mat) you may need to wash the entire thing in a tub with hot soapy water. I have a long-haired cat so this is a common occurrence in my house. The fact that this mat is durable and catches so much litter makes it secure in my number one spot for litter mats. I have a feeling that it will be a while before I even consider buying a new one.
