SINGHKhosla's first successful film, made in the crime movie tradition of Navketan inflected by Guru Dutt's influence. Police Inspector Shekhar(Anand) investigates the death of a newspaper editor when he meets Rekha (Shashikala), the daughter of the commissioner (K.N. Singh). Shekhar keeps running into a mysterious woman (Rehman) who, in a cloak-and-dagger encounter, tries to bribe him to release a crook. He meets her again at Rekha's birthday party. The crook she wants released is mysteriously killed in jail and Shekhar is blamed for police torture. He goes into hiding, pursued by the murderer he was investigating as well as by the police. He eventually solves the case in hospital. The film is dominated by Rehman's luminous presence in her first Hindi role, the camera enhancing her mystery with soft-focus over-the-shoulder shots. Her sensuality is particularly well rended in the scenes where she tries to seduce the crime boss (with the song Kahin pe nigahen) in order to facilitate the hero's escape.

Review on the Movie C I D.
This is the 1956 version of the movie by Guru Dutt who has produced very many others and taken leading roles in such as Pyasa, Aar Paar and Saheb Bibi Aur Gulam. C I D naturally has the incidents of crimes and needs patience to follow and understand the events .Has lots of hit songs during the outdoor shooting in the beautiful city of Mumbai affectionately the Gateway to India especially via Cruise Liners such as SS Karanja, SS Uganda and many more. Resolution and contrast are not so much of high quality to be average over all. But the audio is very clear and of high quality. You may have to adjust the settings on LCD/LED versions. Played by some of the best of the Film Industry of India.

Bonne première partie
Bons acteurs, bon montage, excellente musique, et trois chansons superbes.Dommage que la seconde partie traîne en longueur, et qu'il n'y ait pas de sous-titres français.

Bollywood Noir!
An excellent Bollywood take on the Noir genre. The cinematography is consistently of a high quality throughout the film with excellent use of lighting giving that typical shadowy noir look. The print on the Bollywood films DVD (listed here as Pinnacle) is quite good and crisp and shows no damage, the subtitles too are clear yet not too large and intrusive. The cast are well chosen for their roles and act well. The plot is typical noir fayre with a number of pleasant songs and a court scene added. Bollywood films generally have long running times and this one is no exception but the plot moves along at a nice pace and keeps the viewer gripped from beginning to end. Very highly recommended for lovers of film noir and Bollywood productions, definitely a keeper that I'll be watching again.

Super genial!
Der Film ist einfach nur super-witzig! Ein Gag jagt den nächsten!Zufällig habe ich die Erstausstrahlung bei RTL gesehen und habe mir den Film danach sofort bestellt! Mittlerweile ca. 4 Mal gesehen und muss immer noch laut loslachen.Kannte Sasha bislang nur von seinem schnulzigen "If you believe..." und muss sagen, dass der Mann nicht nur unverschämt gut aussieht, sondern auch noch schauspielerisches und komödiantisches Talent besitzt! Hoffe auf eine Fortsetzung!

Jeder Krimi wird auf die Schippe genommen. Sehr lustig und viele bekannte Gesichter.
