Studies show that introducing children to beneficial skills early on in development leads to more attuned mental faculties. Our Roll n’ Swirl Ball Ramp engages and enhances children’s fine motor and problem solving skills, and also teaches them cause and effect learning. To help engross children in fun and beneficial playtime, this kit includes colorful acrylic balls that are exciting to touch and contain rattling beads than make super fun noises when they roll! It easily breaks down for on-the-go activities and fun. Best of all, it can be built up to its full 12-inch size in a snap! Since its inception in 1967, International Playthings, LLC has excelled in the delivery of innovative and entertaining products with integrity, superior play value, and child developmental qualities to consumers. chocking hazard, parents be aware!
chocking hazard, parents be aware! After only two days, one of the crystal ball cracked and I was lucky enough to find it before it cracked and fall apart. Baby is still young and love to put things in mouth. the little beads inside seems very dangerous.Already returned the item, will never buy again.

Poorly designed
Fun toy for our 9 month old, but there is no groove or lip on the bottom portion, so the balls roll quickly from the toy onto the carpet or hardwood floor. The first time we did it with him, a ball rolled away and under the large sofa. You have to sit with a baby while doing this and retrieve the balls each time, unlike other ball drops where the baby can easily retrieve them at their own pace and see the cause and effect. Also, there is nowhere to store the balls when not using the toy, so Mom has to store them in another container in the toy bucket. Annoying! The balls are also very small and could be put into an 18 month old's mouth. I have not been able to find any replacement balls (only three are included) and the typical busy balls from other companies are to large to fit in the holes. It won't be any fun once we are down to one ball to use.

Great learning toy
My son likes this toy a lot and has just recently learned how to drop the balls at the top all by himself. It's great for babies who are starting to learn cause and effect. I do think that he likes the balls that come with this more than the actual ramp. They make a little bit of noise as they're like rattles and they're made of a hard plastic so he likes to clap two of them together to make even more noise. I was worried they might be a little small but he chews on them all the time and I haven't been worried about them at all. I like that this can be broken down to store as well.

Not that great-- yet?
I got this for our grandson a couple of months ago -- he is now 15 month old -- and it doesn't seem to hold his attention much. Yet? I think it might be helpful for him to see spatially what can happen to objects, though the only corollary I can imagine to these balls spiraling down is driving down in a circular, multilevel parking lot, which I hope he doesn't do anytime soon. Maybe good for hand-eye coordination as he catches them rolling down. My suggestion for an improvement to it is to make the bottom level have a catchement area at the bottom so th balls don't roll off into the sunset and out of his radar screen when they are complete.

Best toy!
Bought this for my 10 month old at the time - it is fabulous. She instantly was interested - I showed her once how to put the ball at the top --- she clapped and wooped with joy, then she did it herself and REALLY started clapping. Nice and lightweight so no worries on the baby getting hurt with it falling over. The balls are also fun on their own with a little rattle to them that my daughter loves to shake. Only downside is that it can TOO easily be taken apart so it often gets pulled into pieces that have to be put together. If instead of just sliding on each other it has a little slide/lock mechanism that would be primo. Overall - great toy - thrilled with it and would make a great gift! Oh and my 6 year old LOVES playing with it too along with her sister!

Lots of fun!
This is the second one of these I've purchased, for grandchild number two who just turned one. I got one 2 years ago for my granddaughter when she was one, and she still plays with it regularly. One game she likes to play is to put the ramp on top of the coffee table and try to get the balls to fall into a cup or other container.

Great Fun!
My almost 7 month old loves this toy! We got it for him for Christmas, and he watched with great interest while we set it up and then sent all three balls spinning down the ramp. After a few weeks he can put the balls on the top of the ramp himself. He likes to just hold the balls in both hands and click them together. Very satisfying for him. Sometimes when he plays with the ramp he gets impatient for the balls to come out the bottom and tips the whole thing over. It keeps his interest for several minutes at a time.I think this toy is great for hand/eye coordination and teaching cause and effect. The balls are the perfect size for him to hold and I think he is at a great age to enjoy this toy, despite the age recommendation of 9+ months.

It's a keeper
I usually don't write reviews, but I always read them before a purchase. We have the pleasure of caring for our grandson during the week. I like to have books and toys and music that will aid his developmental growth. This toy looked like it might fit that category. It appeared to have an entertaining cause& effect / problem solving feature. However, I was concerned when I read about the choking hazard potential. I was also concerned about the flimsy plastic quality. I decided to order it and if the concerns were valid I would return it. Fortunately, in our case, it's a keeper. The balls which are entertaining on their own are between the size of a ping pong ball & a golf ball. I opened my mouth wide & I couldn't fit them in my mouth. The quality of the plastic is fine. Our grandson picks up the stack constantly & it has yet to pull apart. Four tiers is a good height for him to start with. The spill way is aimed so the balls fall at his feet. He loves that. I'm glad there are three balls. He can hold two, but has to then decide what to do with the third. I like it that his participation involves more than banging or spilling. If he wants to watch the interesting balls spin down the colorful ramps he has to put them in that hole. Right now @ almost 9 mo he is fascinated with watching. He has the concept of placing the ball in the hole. The challenge is letting go of that very cool ball! That's why I'm glad there are 3 balls.

Great, but safety is so-so...
My daughter loves this! Why the two stars? It would have gotten one, except that she loves it so much. The chief complaint I have with it is that the balls are just the right size for her to put in her mouth and get stuck. A little bit bigger and little hands could still hold them, but would be too big to stuff between little jaws. Heavens knows why she wants to stuff a ball in her mouth....

Fun toy
My daughter loves this ball dropper toy. At first, she would only play with the rattle balls, but now understands how to put the balls in the dropper. She also likes taking the dropper appart. She definitely prefers her ball popper, but for the price, this is a great toy.

This is a great toy. So great that I brought it to my son's daycare so the other kids can enjoy it too!
