Nice jacket
Very nice windbreaker with just the right amount of insulation. This is my second one.

Big Bang For The Bucks
I ordered this jacket based primarily to wear for travel, initially. I have several soft shells, a couple of Mountain Hardware and a Marmot. Those are all great products, but lack a variety of pockets. I saw a member of my SFA chapter wearing one of these in coyote and asked to take a look at it. the pocket array/placement was perfect. So, I came here, read the all reviews and ordered in black. I wore it on a weeklong family trip to NYC at the first of the year. Temperatures: 20s to 40s with light snow one day, light rain a couple of others. Winds 10-25 at times.Fit:I ordered an XL based on several others commenting on the cut/fit. It was perfect. I am 5'8", 180#, wide shoulders, 36" waist, size 46 coat. I wear a Large and XL (depending on jacket) in Mountain Hardware and Large in Marmot.Warmth: Was the perfect outer layer. I wore a Woolwich Oxbow Bend flannel shirt and t-shirt underneath on most days. I added a Mountain Hardware windstopper vest underneath at night. I am from the DEEP South and was always comfortable. I also wore gloves and a baseball cap.All of the pockets actually add a double layer of insulation.Water resistance: As I said, light rain, light snow, so not really tested. But no leaks or complaints so far.Hood; Some people don't like the hood, because it makes the collar thick. I just pulled mine out and will never stuff it back in. There is a neat feature, a little velcro patch that keeps it doubled flat when you have it out. With it out, the collar is fine and lays down more. No issue for me.Pockets: Not to repeat other's reviews on details, but they are great, all useful if you put your mind to it. I carried my iPhone in the phone pouch in the right chest pocket, my wallet in the left inside pocket, a small first aid kit and Israeli dressing in the back pouch, a Quik Clot Combat guaze in an upper sleeve pocket, a 16 oz Platypus folding water bottle in left chest pocket, most of my cash in my other sleeve pocket. To the ring in the right chest pocket, I attached a CRKT Stiff Kiss fixed blade in its sheath. Draws perfectly. Fixed blade knives under 4" are LEGAL in NYC open or concealed, BTW! If you care...Zippers: I do agree, the main front zipper is flimsy. Its always worked, but is sometimes hard to start and disconnect. Used the pit zips once, no issue. They do feel cold if you put the jacket on with a t-shirt only. But they warm up in a couple of minutes. I didn't notice any drafts. Pocket zippers work very well.Pros: AboveCons: Zipper and Velcro at wrists. The Velcro does"t grip as well as other jackets I've had. Conclusion: GREAT BUY! Exceeded my expectations. Couldn't find a better travel jacket. You must remember, its a SHELL, not an Arctic parka. But it does hold warmth and required minimal layering in the temp range, with high winds, as I described. It is easily comparable overall to MH, Marmot, North Face, Patagonia, etc. for comfort and function. It is now my favorite jacket. I liked it so much, I ordered a Condor Phantom Jacket. I thought the Phantom was a lighter weight version of the Summit, but its not. Same material weight, just less pockets and no hood. I kept it anyway. buying both thru Amazon Prime with free shipping is still less than a Marmot soft-shell.

Great jacket, great price.
So far, so good. Fit is more fitted than other jackets, and that's what I was hoping for. I'm 6'3 220lbs size 44L and the XL fits great, even the arms. Great weight. So far kicking butt in the keeping me dry department. I stood in the rain/ drizzle for 2 hours this weekend and came out dry. Great! My only complaint thus far is the right arm. There's something up with the zipper for the pit zip and it's really scratchy on the right arm only. So much so you really can't wear just a tee shirt under the jacket. I believe this is a fluke though- the left arm is fine. I plan on taking a closer look at it an perhaps trimming some of the fabric around the zipper to see if that solves the issue.

Great jackets
I have an older version of this jacket and wanted one in black also. I was surprised to see they fixed my number one gripe, a lack of a storm flap on the main zipper. This newer version has one which is awesome. The older jacket really did let cold air through the zipper, I used it all the time at work and could feel it. It was a issue but not enough to prevent me from using the jacket all the time. They also made the rear stash pockets, on the back, blend in better as they are slightly covered by a flap. love the pockets for gloves and such but they did kinda stand out as something you don't always see. Now they blend in a tad. They only thing that still sucks in the main zipper can be stiff to connect when zipping it up. The right side zipper tends to creep up a little and lock up the zipper. If it does this, pull both sides down farther and it'll zip easy. I ordered a XL like the previous and noticed the newer one fit a little more snug but still well within how a XL should fit. These are great jackets for the price and hold up extremely well. I use mine all the time at work and on the range. They aren't warm enough for a Alaska winter but will do the job to 25F if you are cold natured like me. With a hoodie they are dang warm.

Possibly the perfect Tactical jacket.
This is possibly the perfect tactical jacket. The size and weight are perfect. The zip-out hood is not some thin, one-layer thing. It is the same weight and waterproof quality as the rest of the jacket. I live in Idaho where it was in the 20's when the jacket arrived. It provides the right amount of warmth and wind / weather resistance while allowing plenty of comfortable moving around room. Front pockets are located high, in front of the ribs, rather than low and to the side as typical jackets. Though different, this works well. There are zippered, inside pockets on both sides, with a rubber opening on the right side pocket for ear buds from your phone, iPod, or hands-free communication device, etc. Sleeve pockets and even a pocket on the small of the back are also featured. My wife has an identical one, same size and color, and loves hers as well. Each arm has velcro area available for morale patches. I purchased the Hazard 4 US Flag Rubber 3D Velcro Morale Patch, Right Arm, Black/Grey from Amazon for my right shoulder. "Don't Tread on Me" is on the left. This is an excellent tactical jacket that I will wear and enjoy for a long time.
