This piston was a perfect size fit to replace a failing unit (unknown but old opener). Once the old unit was removed* the replacement was easy to fit with no need to cool it down, although I had removed the whole unit from the vent. The vent is now working with full range of opening again.* not a fault of the piston but the old one was very difficult to remove from the tube on the unit as it had seized. Being an old unit I think there must have been some corrosion of the aluminium inside the tube. Squirted copious amounts of WD40 down the tube from the opposite hinge end and used a mole wrench to complete the removal!So to summarise - very pleased with the replacement piston which is working superbly. Prompt prime delivery and good price.

Easy to fit if you place in freezer first to reduce length of travel. It only takes 2minutes to fit

Used this to replace a single spring window opener which had failed in my Rhino glasshouse after 5 years use (3 others are still working OK). I made the mistake of removing the original unit from the glass house and replaced the piston on my bench. Replacing the piston only took a few minutes removing a clip and screwing the old out and the new in. Reinstalling the complete unit back into the greenhouse however took about 20 minutes as it was fiddly and easy to drop the small assembly screws. Not the replacement cylinders fault however, as that was easy to install. Been using it now for a few weeks and works well.

This literally took less than a minute to install and just worked with no issues.Much cheaper and easier than installing a complete replacement, the old cylinder had visible wax leakage around the piston rod and was failing to close fully.
