Engineers Solve Problems (Engineering Close-up)

I bought this book for my 6 year old grandson. We read it tonight. I must say I was pleasently surprised that it explained engineering on his level. It talks about engineers solving problems and the process they use to solve problems and or improve on things to make the world a better place. The book also ask questions which encourages the children to think about things. My grandson enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this book. I also look forward to purchasing other books from this series.

I ordered this set of books to help my 1st grade students understand engineering. While this book does explain the entire engineering process, it focuses on the problem solving aspect. It looks back into history and shows how engineering has been around for a long time and how engineers continue to improve things to make lives better. This book is appropriate for the curious K-3 students and does a great job encouraging them to think like engineers. I highly recommend this book and look forward to sharing others books from this series with my students.

I use this with my first and second graders when introducing the basics of engineering. Great and handy resource.
