Top quality
It's very sturdy, doesn't skid or wobble. Adjusting it works like this. You can loosen a locking screw on the back of the main mechanism so that the whole thing slides up and down the aluminum post. Then you tighten that setscrew, and that's your coarse adjustment done. Next on the side of the main mechanism is the medium adjustment knob that moves half the mechanism up and down while the other half remains fixed to the post. All the metal parts are precision machined out of aluminum. There is zero play anywhere. The adjustment knob is well knurled and a good size. It's has decent resistance to turning, but it doesn't bind. There is enough up and down travel under control of the adjustment knob that at the top of the range I can unzoom my Dino-Lite to 50x then twist the knob down to the lowest point of travel and zoom the Dino into 300x. The adjustment knob and the Dino zoom both act with the same degree of accuracy, meaning when I'm doing fine focus, I can use either one. As the knob is tighter, it provides slightly more control. So 5 stars.

Good Stand
Very sturdy. Works well with our Depstech USB microscope ($26). Can't use with the Juision ($20) - it won't hold that microscope securely.

Excellent Product!
I've used this Dino-Lite several times now. Each time I get more familiar with its capabilities. The pictures are super clear and the adjustment capability is great. Great product for the cost! The available metal stand can make using this mircroscope even a greater experience.

Other than that good product
Works well with many adjustments, set screw can work loose I ended up with a crushed specimen when this happened. Other than that good product

Two Stars
Poor quality of the microscope holders, each brakes within the time, waste of money !

could use additional features
though this is an excellently engineered product and well worth the cost, I was disappointed that it did not have a rotating camera mount so that the camera can be tilted to an angle when photographing objects that have a reflective surface. I found that I had to tilt the item to offset the reflection of the LED lights surrounding the camera's lens. It would have also been helpful to have a feature to turn off the camera's built in LEDs to allow for the use of a secondary light source. It would have also been helpful if an extension tube was included, This focusing gears are well constructed as if the overall quality of this product. The rotating head my be available as option, I know that the extension tube is.

Nice stand!
When I first purchased my Dino-Lit it came with a small stand. Could only raise/adjust the camera up about 3 to 4 inches above the platform. Had to MacGyver anything else to get it higher. This stand IS expensive, but built really nice, and with an added extension pole (screws on top of the original one) I can get it up almost 24 inches.I like the idea there is no track on the pole to keep from spinning the camera 360. The mount that slides on the pole has an about 2 inch fine adjustment to move the camera up and down slightly after tightening the set screw on the back of the mount.I figure to take closeups of spots on my car (something falling from the sky) I can use a strong magnet to hold the base in place while using my laptop to take some pictures. I told some friends on Facebook I would post some pictures..
