Vix-Bit 9VIXBIT Self Centering Pre-Drill Bit for 9/64-Inch Hinges and #8, 9, and #10 screws

This tool works unlike brand X. I’m replacing the doors in my house. Sometimes I have to relocate the hinge to make things plumb. This requires plugging the old screw holes. This tool works great to keep the holes centered. It runs true and locates properly on the counter sinks in the hinge.

Excellent product. Sized for door hinges I changed out dozens of door slabs and this made it easy to set hinges.The guy helping me had some cheap Chinese knock offs that were crap...wrong size and sloppy fit. The original made in USA model is a fine tool and a worthwile addition to the tool box.

Works great. I misplaced my previous Vix bit and mounted a piano hinge on a box using the old mark, center punch, and then drill routine - time consuming and tedious process. Used the Vix on a second project to mount a piano hinge and took less than one third the time, and the hole placement was also more precise. Excellent value for the money.

Product works as described but the included bit (9/64) is too large for #8 screws. I switched it out for the smallest bit I could (1/8) and it was ok for the rest of my #8 screws. Would have liked to be able to put in a smaller diameter bit but the set screw is too high to do that.,

Excellent product. Would be great if the shank was 1/4" hex. Have used them for over 20 yrs. Those Kings Do Way copy-cat want-a-be bits with the hex shank don't even start to compare

does a great job with great ease in centering the pilot holes in hinges. it works great and makes the job so much easier

This bit is too big (dia) for no. 8 and 9 screws. Also, it is very hard to compress it, and it doesn't go deep enough (in my opinion).

Very nice drill bit. Fits hinge holes perfectly and doesn't want to travel. Bit is very sharp. I'm glad I spent a little extra money and bought the Vix brand.
