Would definitely purchase again!
We purchased this digital frame for my parents as a gift, but preloaded it with photos of family, so I was able to use it a bit. It works well. There is no music or sound for this one, but the pictures displayed nicely. I don't think it allowed any photo editing for pictures that had to be rotated and thus were occasionally cropped off at the top or bottom--that has to be done on the computer prior to playing it on the frame. The frame uses a regular SD memory card, so the capacity is basically limitless. It also has some storage space on the frame itself without the memory card, but using a memory card (not included) keeps anything from somehow being lost. It also makes it easier to categorize photos. It comes with a little remote, but it also has buttons on the frame itself, so it can be operated either way. There is also a nice clock and calendar, with a scheduling function if you want to schedule the slide show to operate at certain times. The frame runs off of a cord or batteries (also not included). The larger size did present some grainy photos, but I'm not sure that is the frame's issue--I think that depends on the camera that took the photos, as some of the photos were really nice and clear and others not so good. We even had some scanned photos, but those again were not as clear, but wouldn't have been on any digital frame. It also has 2 different photo frame mats--black or white--to change the appearance of the frame. My parents were very pleased with it and I think it was well worth the money. I would definitely buy this again!

Worked great, until...
Similar to another recent reviewer, I purchased this frame in December 2010. The frame was great - easy to set up, looked great, and had a handy remote. The frame worked very well until early January 2012, when it just went black - totally dead. It lasted 1 year and 2 weeks from the purchase date, and slightly over a year from the date I set it up. Like the previous reviewer, I tried contacting Pandigital Customer Service, but was unable to get through. It's a real shame, because I was really pleased with the frame. Perhaps its unrealistic, but I think these things should last longer than 1 year. Luckily, I purchased the SquareTrade warranty, so I'll be submitting a claim today.

Nice, crisp image
Nice, crisp image. Easy to get images uploaded (I used a SD card).I got this for my Grandpa. My adopted grandpa. Anyway, a bit of a preface, as I believe this digital frame would have lasted way longer then it did, had it not lived with my grandpa. He's a slob. A hoarder. And he smokes. He's a crazy animal kind of guy-- part of the reason I got him this was because his cat had passed away, and obviously the new kitten wasn't enough, so pictures of the dead cat were the obvious answer. I keep it in check as best I can, but I will admit, this frame has seen things. It's covered in soot from his pipe tobacco and there are tar deposits on the electrical output sites. His feral cats like to press there stinky butts up against the screen, I can only guess as a sign of affection for their lost comrades. Or knock the frame to the floor. So add cat feces, litter, and suicide attempts to the list of things assaulting this poor frame. Lest not forget, the guerilla glue finger prints, wood shavings, and paint, and you've got a lovely petri dish. Air quality is probably close to LA on a good day. Add some festering and BAM!That being said, I think this digital frame did great! Minus one star after I veto'd gramps 1 star rating. He blames the cats.Worked faithfully, every day, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for almost 2.5 years. Now a blue screen of death shines brightly back at me. After seeing pictures I took, it is kind of nice seeing something different. Have tried reseting, using a different SD card, turning off for three minutes on an alternate Wednesday that is also Leap Day at 5:02PM, doing the super top secret electronics revival dance-- all to no avail. I think it just wants to show me the blue screen for now. That's fine. I have those days too.

Fantastic product for the price
I started looking into digital photo frames after the price point for 10" frames hit my comfort zone of $75-90. After reading the reviews of this particular Pandigital frame, investigating a few other reviews, plus seeing this one was on sale, I decided to go for it and buy 2 of them. I have to say I am most pleased with my purchase. The colors are bright, the resolution is crisp (even at 800x480, which is ~VGA), and the operation was more or less intuitive. I was also very happy to find that the unit came with a remote control, which makes menu operation a LOT easier. Other nice features include the calendar, automatic sleep function (I set mine to run on an 8-hour cycle, just to save the life of the screen - no point having it run 24/7), as well as a selection of screen transitions although I just use the simple crossfade. The base memory is a bit low at 512MB, but the frame comes with a built-in 6-in-1 card reader, and with the price of SD cards being what they are, it's well worth it to just throw in a 4GB SD with the purchase also and load it up with your favorite pix. If you have the time and patience, resize your images to 800x480 so you can pack even more images on there. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and I stare at it all day long as it sits on my desktop and cycles through beautiful photos of my travels, friends and family, and random photos.
