This soil is blemded and checked to be PH neutral which is 7 . As far as immediately adding anything to it I highly advise otherwise and been cultivating with Fox Farm for 15 years. I prefer the Happy Frog blend and use my soil twice . I amnend my soil with the Happy Frog reconditioning blend and simply add 4 inches of the new reconditioning blend to the top of the old ( it may be neccessary to remove some of the old to make room in your pot. After Ive got a good 4 inches, they advise 3, I then mix it thoroughly Into the old . I give no nutes til flowering (then its CalMag and Flower Fuel) and have grown 128 gram colas (dry weight) doing such . Im sold on Fox Farm soil and stear clear of dead sterile soils . Btw in life you really do get what you pay for and with nutes sometimes less is best in the end product.

Q: What is better for an outdoor grow Happy frog or ocean forest?

I've tried both and they are both very good. Happy Frog comes in a 2.0 CF bag as does their Coco Loco. Ocean Forest comes in a 1.5 CF bag. They all sell about the same price so if you're on a budget Happy Frog would be my choice.

The back of the 2cu. ft. bag says N .30% P .30 and K is .05

Q: how many 3 gallon buckets will this fill ?

The 2 cubic foot (cf) bag, will completely fill 2 - 5 gallon (Lowe's food grade) buckets with a little left over. No calculations, I just did this, and what it was. So you should be able to fill 3 - 3 gallon buckets. I think there is some confusion because this soil also comes in different size bags.
