How long does the light stay on for?

I have never actually timed it, but I would say it stays on for about 30 seconds to 1 minute after you have left the room. It stays on while you are in there because you are moving about, but once you have left the bathroom it goes out shortly afterwards. It does not come on during the daytime because it is light-sensitive, only at night if you walk in. I have bought several of these toilet lights from different suppliers in the past and have generally found that they are great but don’t seem to last too long. However this one seems to be working really well and without any problems and is a very good price. Once you have bought one of these you will wonder how you ever managed without one!

Is it waterproof as my toilet is enclosed within a wet room?

Are these hygenic/easy to disinfect? I have young boys!

I would say no. As the light is the part that goes in the bowl. However what I do is every month I take them out & give them a clear with a disinfectant wipe. Hope this helps.

Is there an on and off button?

No there is no on off button. It comes on with a sensor and goes off automatically after a couple of minutes
