Complete A+ Guide to IT Hardware and Software: A CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1001) & CompTIA A+ Core 2 (220-1002) Textbook

This book has amazing color pictures that will help you succeed on your CompTIA A+ certification exam. It comes at a high cost, and if you can afford it buy it! This should be everything you need to pass with the amount of knowledge inside. Professor Messor has great videos online for free as well to supplement this book with another study source Youtube. It may seem expensive at first, then you should realize the tests cost $219 a piece for two exams. Do yourself a favor and pass the first time, get this book!

I'm only 50 pages through the book and already found significant errors and contradictions. For example, Figure 2.45 identifies the Green PS/2 port as Keyboard, and Purple as Mouse, it's actually the opposite. Figure 2.28 mislabeled a Mini-B 5-pin USB port as a Mini-Type A; a Micro-Type B port as a Type A. On page 36, the max resolution of a DVI dual link connection is listed as 1920 x 1080; it's actually 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). Too many errors and not ready for prime-time. This is an expensive book, and I'm not happy with it so far.

Excellent book! Used for a Cooledge course.

Book seems rushed, lots of typos and editing errors. The author constantly goes from extremes in the level of detail provided on various subjects.

Since the book is better than a 3 and not quite a 4 my rating is actually a 3.5. I purchased and used this book in conjunction with in class labs and it was very helpful. Some minor typos, which could be corrected with better editing. Still the book is organized well and covers alot of key subjects needed for the exam. I don't see this as a complete single source for exam prep, but it will compliment and reinforce other learning materials like the cumbersome CompTIA A+ book. This book is better organized, easier to read, and explains topics well through the use of good pictorials and diagrams. Even though the author seem knowledgeable about the subject, there are very few reviews.

I bought this book because the pathways advisor said it would be a good idea to get my books prior to class starting. So, I did, and I only opened it a couple times when my internet was down for a short period of time. Everything in the book is in the course material you are provided once you sign up for class. So, if you are getting this book for school, I would wait till a few days after you start to make sure you are not paying twice for the exact same things as I did. If you are getting this book outside of school and are just curious it is worth it.

Bad kindle formatting. Tables cut off all over the place. :( Shame cause it seems like a well written book
