This is a great glove and is broken in well (v-notch is great) for youth players. It does not require the break in period like a Heart of the Hide glove and is not as good, but do youth players need $300 gloves? It depends on the player... My son has a H of the H glove for Short and another for Catching (this took quite a bit to break in) and only plays First occasionally. I sometimes use it and really like it. Rawlings is Baseball.

I got this glove for my daughter who just turned 9 and plays first base on her softball team. I had been searching for a good glove and almost spent a few hundred dollars, but I found this one for under $60—and it’s fantastic! The quality is impressive for the price. We followed a YouTube video to break it in, and now it’s perfect. The pocket is deep, so it traps the ball really well. Overall, this is a great glove and an amazing value.

My 9 year old son uses this glove. Was easy to condition. Very durable .

I needed a cheap mitt to occasionally catch with my son who is entering the 10u level. The Renegade mitt seemed like it fit the bill. Even as a 32.5 inch, it fit my adult hand. Glove felt pretty solid, but lighteweight. It was made mostly of pure leather, but there are some pieces of "pleather" that would likely peel in the long run. It was mostly broken in and a younger player would definitely be able to use it immediately...but the softness probably means it won't be as durable. Honestly for a 12u or 10u, this isn't a bad choice. But the Player Preferred series is the same price and is constructed much more solidly, though a tad heavier too because of that. It's also much more stiff and requires break-in. If you're an adult, I would definitely go with the Player Preferred.

Easy to break in, bought for my son's 8th birthday. Was catching with it next day. Worth the $31 spent.

Would give it 0 stars if possible. I originally purchased this glove for my son 2 Christmasses ago, used for 1 season and then the laces snapped. Paid to have it re-laced only to have the seems come apart on the webbing last Wednesday (5/14) I purchased it again as a quick replacement and it came in on Friday (5/16). He used it for a game on Sunday (5/18) and the laces snapped during warm up today (5/21). It is the most poorly crafted mit I have ever purchased and will be hesitant to purchase another Rawlings glove in the future.
