MASD-1 (W) MicroSD Attachment

Before buying this I read the other reviews. A number of reviews said that this adapter didn't fit their camera, that they couldn't make it work. Even going so far as to cut out the triangular thingie.But I needed an adapter, and the price was low enough that I bought it anyway. Well, although I don't doubt that it wasn't compatible with their camera - it works just fine in mine.So bottom line - at least for some NEON Olympus cameras this adapter works, but apparently for others it doesn't. I don't know how to tell in advance, but if you need it, the price is cheep enough that I recommend you give this one a try.

My first clue as to this product's "quality" was that it is not an Olympus MASD-1, It is a lookalike that fails to work in my Olympus Stylus Tough 8000. The Olympus website verified that with a "MASD-1" adapter, my micro SD should work fine. After fighting to get the MSD card to fit into the adapter to begin with, the fit inside my camera is loose, and above all else; the card fails to read through this knockoff POS adapter. Do NOT try and save a few dollars with this product, go for broke and purchase the proper card. (difficult to accomplish considering the false advertisement displayed on this listing)

People need to know what they are buying. I have a tough 4 Olympus camera and not only does the adapter work, I am using a 32 GB mini sd and it will store 8400 hi def photos.Good price and good product, there are different models of picture cards so you need to get the correct one for your camera.

it works......... Not a lot of inexpensive options out there.doesn't slide right into the camera like an Olympus card does and the Micro USB didn't want to fit until I twisted and stuffed it in there....Save your money and by an Olympus card

I purchased this adapter for my Olympus camera since the new Olympus now use micro sd and I thought that this adapter would work so I could update my memory since all that I can get is 2 GB cards in the XD format. Well It did not work with my camera but i as sure its a great product.

Would not work and was told would not work after the fact ! And not that sturdy very cheap it cracked will trying to install..

You need to ensure your particular camera will work with this adapter. My father bought a water resistant camera and lost his adapter. The camera came with an adapter just like this one, so it was compatible. The notch on the adapter won't fit in all cameras.

This product does not even fit in my olympus camera which takes a standard Olympus XD picture card. I had to physically modify the plastic on one side (i.e. trimming it down with a knife so it would fit in the camera). I succeeded in doing so without affecting the terminals or the part that accepts the microSD card. The adapter now clicks into place in my camera with the microSD card installed in it. The camera displays an error message stating to clean the terminals on the card but the terminals are clean. I try the format option but it fails every time. I conclude that this adapter and/or microSD cards are incompatible with this camera. I am sorely disappointed as I was excited to have a way around the 2gb limitation that Olympus stupidly placed on their cameras by using XD cards instead of SD like the rest of the world. Luckily this product was cheap so I am not out much money.P.S. This adapter does not fit in my laptop memory card slot either which accepts XD picture cards.
