Light and smooth and way better than swift 3
Using this for past 2 weeks and no complains. Very light and powerful. I did uninstall the antivirus and some other software that ships with it. I think modern computers need 16GB or RAM and this one has it, which was a bonus and I think one of the reasons why it operates smoothly and fast. The USB-C works with my dock very well, so it doubles as a good desktop too (and yes the USB C charges the laptop if your dock supports it). Fingerprint scanner has been a pleasant surprise, I own a swift 3 , which had a very hit-or-miss fingerprint reader , where I had log in more with password than fingerprint, however with this laptop it works smoothly too. Similarly, swift 3 had problems with some USBC chargers , but this laptop charges well with most high wattage USBC chargers. Overall, so far, very happy with the buy, highly recommend it.

Love it!
I've now been using this laptop for 7 months. It's been great. This is my fourth Acer laptop and Acer is now my preferred brand. I was nervous about this purchase after reading the reviews here. But, I have not experienced the problems that some others have. My laptop does not run hot. The fan is perhaps louder than normal, but it rarely turns on so that has not been an issue. The laptop has frozen perhaps 5 times in 7 months and most of those were in the first 4 months. The only issue that I've had is that I can not get the fingerprinter reader to consistently work; however, I don't care about that and just use my pin. The laptop is fast, light, has a great screen, good sound, and a long battery life For me, it has been an excellent deal.

Thin, light, fast
Pros: numerous. quiet, thin, ultra light, fast, great network speed (i got an ethernet adapter preemptively, but wifi speed is almost as fast), awesome displayCons: gets hot with long online classes, touchscreen not great for writing (doesn't stay still), fingerprint reader unreliable/obsolete

Sound did not work, touchpad didn't work and can't install the driver
I was quite excited by the specs of this laptop - very light, large screen, powerful CPU. The problem is that the sound doesn't work AT ALL. Not a peep. The second problem was that the touchpad didn't work. I've spent a couple of hours looking for how to fix the driver problem - but I can't seem to make it work. I wasn't the only one either- this appears to be a common enough problem that people had come up with a variety of workarounds (which didn't work for me).All of this was deeply frustrating for a brand new laptop.I don't know if I got unlucky and got sent a lemon, or if the quality of Acer laptops has just dramatically declined. (My husband just bought an Acer chromebook and his screen died within 4 months of purchase.) I used to own a very reliable Acer ultralight - never had a problem. Either way, I would avoid this model given these problems.

Update...
UPDATE:Eventually the computer booted up - who knows why - and I rolled the system back to a prior restore point. I haven't had a problem since. It's now been nearly two years and that was the only glitch. Impossible to know what happened. I hadn't installed any new software. Could have downloaded a bug of some sort I guess, although I have security software.Purchased Feb 21, 2020. Failed to boot April 20, 2020After being on hold for 20 minutes, tech told me to call back in an hour. I guess we're about to find out how good their customer service is.Pros:very lightweight < 3lb$900 less than nearest-priced 3lb laptopLarge screenResponsive touchscreenCons:Keyboard has shallow feel and keys don't always workUses numeric login password, which I don't prefer.Lasted 2 months!!!!!

Just opened the box, not terribly impressed
Okay, I'll probably do updates, but I just opened it and installed my security and a few othr things and this is what I'm definitely NOT impressed with but... why I bought this:I bought an ASUS in Sept last year and in January it started going belly up, then it righted itself but I got tired of dealing with it so I ordered this.I like the weight of it. The screen is nice so far as I loaded in a bunch of photos and they look good.Keyboard is so-so, backlighting of it is, well, pretty light. But I have a separate gamers keyboard that I love so I'll be using that. What I don't like...THE TOUCH SCREEN IS STICKY. Seriously. sticky, like maybe you just ate something sugary and didn't wipe your hands properly. I hated the ASUS but damn it had a good touch screen. it could be because it feels more like glass. This feels like plastic and your finger sticks to it. It is also not that responsive. Maybe it will get better. I don't know. Also, I'm a fast typist and if I hit the keys at my top speed... I look like I don't know how to spell.right now I'm not impressed enough to give it a better rating.Backlighting is really weak and it goes off when you're not on it for a few second.

Great light laptop
This laptop surprised me. It's light, and the screen is big. Works well but from time to time the touchscreen stops functioning (once in 2 weeks). A reboot will take care of the issue. For the price, it's the best laptop you can get. We do IT and I have the choice of using 2k plus laptops such as Microsoft Surface or HP. I have been using this for 2 years and it's been good. I ordered another one for a co-worker as well. The lightness really makes carrying it like a tablet very easy. Superlight and big screen.
