I've always been a fan of silly putty. It's just so much fun to play with! I love the way it feels in my hands, and I find it to be a great way to relax and de-stress.I've found that silly putty is especially helpful when I'm feeling anxious or stressed. I have only had this product for a few days, but I am already in love!I got some of the Super Lava after playing with some Super Scarab my friend had gotten. I bought it with the intention of using it for strength exercises for my hands, since I sew and sometimes end up with less than happy joints and muscles.First, the color of this is gorgeous. It is a bit lighter than I was expecting, with a lot more golden tones, but it reflects differently in different lights, from a rich copper to a deep burgundy in dimmer lighting. This putty may be more expensive than other less interesting putties, but the color combination is, in my opinion, worth the extra cost. It is very soothing to watch the colors change with the light as I play with it.I have never tried any other strength or therapy putties for any extended period of time, so unfortunately I can't provide any comparison in that area, but as someone who hasn't done any kind of targeted strength exercises for my hands in the past, this provides a nice challenge without being too strenuous. I don't have a wide range of exercises I do yet, but currently, I particularly like to take the whole amount of putty and knead it in one hand until my hand begins to feel sore, then switch to the other hand. I do a couple rounds of this twice a day. I also like to do the same with just my fingertips using a piece of putty about the size of a golf ball.Overall, this putty fulfills all the requirements I was looking for when I bought it. Its only downside would be that as far as I can tell, it only comes in two strengths, with the stronger being available in fewer colors, but I was intending to use this as only a beginner putty and for relaxation purposes when I bought it, so it was not different than what I was expecting to get. From what I have seen of the product online, it is intended to be used more as a science-type tool or just because it looks pretty, so while my intended use may not be that far of a stretch, it is still not the putty's primary purpose as far as I can tell.I would absolutely recommend this as at least a starting personal therapy-type tool for anyone it would normally be appropriate for. When I graduate to stronger putties and am more able to compare, I will post a proper comparison.

You just can't get better than Crazy Aaron's putty. It has the perfect, non-sticky texture will mesmerizing colors. I use this at work to help with focus and I will continue to purchase from this company!

I got Super Lava for myself, because I'm a fidgeter. Having something to manipulate in your hands is a great distraction. At first I balked at the price, but I had heard good things about Crazy Aaron's. The picture of Super Lava makes it look liquidy red and gold, but mine is a reddish grey. Still pretty though. I saw someone post a video, claiming theirs to be a sticky mess, but they must have manipulated it with another substance, because mine is not sticky whatsoever. It was delivered during a snow storm, so it was chilled when I opened it, but even after a solid hour of squishing, stretching, squeezing, and pinching, it is still not sticky, and no pigment has rubbed off onto my hands, which get pretty sweaty. As far as smell, if you stick it right up to your nose, yes, there is a faint scent, but my hands don't smell at all. I suppose the texture of each different Crazy Aaron's Putty must depend on the kind you get, such as the glow in the dark kind, the metallics, the glittery, the clear, etc. I ordered the magnetic putty as a holiday gift for someone, and can't wait to see how it is!Side note: In the product's box, behind the tin, there is a note that says "Your Super Illusions Have a Memory Effect." It means when you stretch, squeeze, or twist it, after a few moments, it begins to move back to its original shape. It's still a blob, but it is cool to watch it untwist itself.

fun to play with

I am a homeschool mom of 5. We use Thinking Putty during reading time so the kids can listen while keeping their hands busy. It works wonderfully. They beg for reading time and never want me to stop reading! This container of Thinking Putty is huge. 2 or 3 kids can easily share one container. It also lasts a really long time. It never gets dried up or weird. It can make an awful mess if you get it on upholstered furniture or carpet, but since I use it only for reading time, I don't have that issue. The Lava color is red with gold in it. It looks amazing and the kids love it. It is very stretchy and easy to work with. It also bounces if you roll it up into a ball. The tins are very durable, as well. The 2 year old enjoys it just as much as the 7 year old. It makes for very relaxing story time.

I work in a call center and like having putty to keep my hands busy. Normally I use silly putty but on a whim purchased this stuff in the super lava color. This putty is awesome!!! I wish I had purchased sooner. It's pretty colors, soft enough to not hurt my fingers but still firm to not be sticky. Love it. I find that the whole amount is too big to play with at once so I halved it and it's perfect size.
