This mornitor arm provides a lot of flexibily on the height and position of the monitor. Everyone talks about how high these monitors arms can be adjusted, but I am short and was interested in lowering the monitor to avoid looking up and resulting neck pain. This monitor allows me to keep the monitor low, and easily move it closer to me when I work and away when I could use extra room on my desk.V7 monitor arm performs these tasks well because it has a lot of joints. The arm is very sturdy, and handle the weight of my 24" wide screen monitor well. It stays securely in place, yet remains easy to reposition.My desk top is quite thick because it has leaves that can be moved in and out of the desk to give me more desk surface. However, this thickness caused me problems in the past as some clamps could not handle this thickness. This monitor arm has a bracket that can handle a desk two times thicker than mine! It can clamp to the surface that is 4" thick.The arm has a standard VESA mount with mounting holes at 3" x 3" and 4" x 4" positions.I am very pleased with V7 arm.
