The examples are great, particular those related to lean coffee's and insight ...
I found this book to be extremely helpful in regards to brushing up on change management concepts and new philosophies as it relates to the concept of lean. The examples are great, particular those related to lean coffee's and insight sessions. This book does have supplemental information that can be found on the website leanchange.org. I would suggest this book if you are looking to brush up on new concepts related to change management, or if you need visual examples to use in practice.

Loved this book about Agile change
I recommend this book to anyone interested in how to go about changing the way things are done. I specially liked all the simple tools that are available to plan and structure change without actually imposing change. The saying “If you cannot change people, just change it” takes another dimension. Yes, when there is a problem, it is a people’s problem, and we all are people that should take the time to go through the whole process of changing lovingly...

Great book to teach teams on how to deal with Change!
Lean Change Management is an excellent tool to deal with Change fast and limit the risk to a lesser amount of time. I believe that this is a clear process to deal with change but it needs to have full commitment by the teams and the organization which I believe is one of the biggest problems with implementing Agile approaches as well as Change Management processes. Teams usually start by adopting Agile approaches but as the project keeps moving forward they usually tend to avoid processes implementations and keep working as best suits them. By implementing processes to deal with Change I believe that one person should dedicate itself to implement everything and take care solely of the experiments, and to try to change the teams and the organization's mindsets and let them acknowledge that changes are necessary in order to improve efficiency and productivity.

A Game Changer!
For months I was working on an Agile transformation with a client, trying different things to move the needle forward. I found it difficult to design, organize, track, and communicate what I was working on. LCM was a game changer for me as it enabled me to do all of those things in a light-weight framework that just made sense. What I love most about LCM is that it uses Agile thinking and methods to do Agile (or other) transformations. The way Jason lays out how to convert insights into options and into experiments just makes sense! Ever since introducing LCM at my client, I've been able to build the organizations Change Agent network and now work with that team to continue the movement forward, moving the organization forward towards the target state.

solid information and steps for practitioners and coaches
If you have experienced hitting a wall with your agile transformation or adoption this is a must read. Filled with practical information about change management backed up with real world examples I highly recommend this book for all agile project, delivery and transition managers & directors. It has already created a few heated discussions in my lean coffee groups. Jason Little does a great job breaking down some of the obscure lean concepts into actionable items you can start using now.

Must read book for Agile Coaches involved in Agile Transformation
I found Lean Change Management extremely useful. Jason uses various change management models (such as Satir Model, ADKAR, Kotter's 8 step model, McKinsey's 7S framework), agile framework, and Lean Startup to come out with a Lean Change Management cycle which he defines as "a non linear feedback driven model for managing change". Jason takes us through how he puts these practices to use in a company called "The Commission". He explains at length the various experiments used, tools to generate insights and means to measure the progress of agile transformation at "The Commission". Interestingly, he also comes out with a Retrospective where he talks of what went well and what could have been done better at the company.Very practical, with lots of tips, this is a great book for Agile coaches, Agile Consultants and Project Managers who are involved in Agile Transformation.

Soon to be the "Change Management Bible" for practitioners........
I'd seen this book evolving since 2012 and have been a part of the journey through the reviews as well as implementing the method at my Clients' Organization. Anyone reading this review may feel that I'm biased and that's the reason for 5 star rating. But, to be honest and candid, this is really not the case here. Change Management has already got a no. of approaches or methods or frameworks but still the outcomes are either not upto the mark or questionable. Jason, a pragmatic Change artist himself, has come up with a new toolkit encompassing Lean Startup and related practices that adds what has been missing in the other approaches till now. I believe this book is going to be the game changer as far as Change Management is concerned and if you're into Agile Consulting or into Change Management itself, get this book right away. You won't be able to put it down from the first page itself and the ideas can really sharpen your Consulting skills. Still not convinced, then don't buy but then be ready to be in the "Late Majority" group rather than being the early adopter and reaping the benefits right away. This book will be termed as a Change Management bible in the time to come, mark my words.

Not quite what I expected
Interesting, but a book I read with mixed feelings, hence the balanced 3 star review. To start with the good, I liked a number of things about this book. Basically, I like the core advice - it's practical and pragmatic. I like some of the ways the author combines good modern practice in change management with some older techniques - like ADKAR, Kotter's 8-step model, and the McKinsey 7s framework. I liked this not because I am fixated with those techniques, but because I liked the way the author pragmatically picks the bits that work and says how to apply them usefully. Also, and this does influence the feeling the book leaves you with, the author comes across as a good guy who would be a great asset in a transformation. However, there were a few bits I liked less. The title implies the book is a fully formulated and proven set of practices. In reality, it is essentially a case study from one transformation project for "The Commission". I like case studies, but like to know that's what I'm paying for when I buy a book. Secondly, like many books on agile change it does not get into those painful situations where there are no winners - such as when an organisation decides/needs to shut a whole facility or remove itself from a geography and everyone is going to be made redundant. No amount of engagement and involvement makes this sort of change popular or enjoyable. Finally, and I admit this is just a personal taste, I found the writing style a tiny bit annoying - too many exclamation marks and italic font. However, my reading taste is almost certainly different from yours. So, if you are looking for a great case study which could introduce you to some really interesting practices then this will be a good resource. Less good if you are looking for something broader.

Good idea but ideas presented are rather common sense - grammar/spelling mistakes make it difficult to read
Appreciate the idea to write about change management. Unfortunately, the writing style is poor in my personal opinion. Also, the book is also full of grammar and spelling mistakes. Generally speaking, the message could have been communicated in blog article-length. All frameworks presented in the book are poorly explained and readers without prior knowledge of these frameworks will have to conduct further research. I would strongly suggest a) reading summaries of the frameworks (further reading is required anyway) and then b) searching for "Lean Change Management Cycle" images on Google (source: leanchange.org). This combination is time efficient, far more actionable and insightful than reading the entire book.
