Official SEGA Mega Drive Scale Model - (non-functioning)

As you can see from the photo, compared to a 50p it's a nice size to be put on display. Well made, with nice and precise mouldings/casting/rendering, it's the nearest I've ever got to owning a real Mega Drive.Also, it's a nice talking point.I look forward to more in this range/series.

I first saw these models online from some YouTube videos and was intrigued to get one myself.Thanks to the "joy of prime" the model turned up next day, and I was incredibly eager to get the box open and take a look.What I was presented with was a really nice box, officially licensed messaging, and a really sleek looking box. Once open each little part is individually sectioned out and the WOW factor really starts. Seeing a mini version of the original Mega Drive box was such a nice little touch, but its the console and pad which I was mostly interested in.Once I had all the little parts out, I was astonished the level of detail including a VERY small replicated cartridge of Sonic the Hedgehog. What was a really nice touch was actually being able to put the cart into the unit, which gives the entire model a complete finish.Now, the main Sega Mega Drive is incredibly detailed. A beautifully modelled unit, with moving volume slider and power button. It brings back so many memories of using my old Mega Drive 1 unit, and you will too once you hold this model in your hand. Also, the control pad is INCREDIBLY detailed for such a small model too. With these comes 2 little stands. One for the control pad and one for the main console.In closing, if you are looking for an officially licensed model of the Sega Mega Drive, with incredible detail and presented in a beautiful manner this is the product for you.

I love this so much, it's so cute. Even the controller is quality. I wish there was a super Nintendo version as well I would buy it also

I LOVE the Mega Drive, grew up with it and own many of them now.I consider myself a bit of a Mega Drive GEEK so I am quite picky about Mega Drive stuff.I like the texture and quality of the plastic finish. I think there are some details which could have been improved for when this was £35 but for £20 it is great value and would look great on any retro collectors shelf.I understand now that to make an officially licensed model it will have to have some limitations on some details (such as a raised 16 bit logo instead of it just being printed on). So there are some areas i'd like to have seen some extra detail but for the £19.99 price you can't argue with what you get.In my previous review I had commented a lot on what I would have expected for £35 and compared to other similar types on the market but with some insight from the creator and a price drop I feel it's fair now to leave a review of as it is today at this price point which I think is not worth mentioning those details and that I was coming across as being a little harsh.I like the overall package but feel the print quality of the recreated box could be improved with later releases (and other future models), and the little booklet could have some more details but really I could just add some myself and print them out, but for the price you get a great little model for your shelf.I am looking forward to collecting these and hope this review encourages others to buy more at this price so they can make more models, I think like minded collectors will also display these on a shelf with other memorabilia for example this mega drive would look great with a collectors book or poster behind it. I would love to see replica model of an amiga and zx spectrum (with rubber keys!).I hope that this price point sticks as I think what you get in the package is definitely worth it especially with free prime delivery.The Power button and volume buttons work but the reset or controller buttons do not.The plastic is high quality and has a nice texture to it.The 16-Bit logo is printed on however the price would be higher if this was added to the production so am happy to pay £19.99 with these details.The cartridge I had began to peel at the edges but some pritt stick sorted this, it is nice to be able to slot the cartridge into the console.I will look forward to making some little modifications to this to give it some extra details (led power light, controller cable etc).It is a great model at a great price so any sega fan new or old will enjoy having this in their collection!

Fantastic scale model about the size of a CD case. Really well finished, especially with the crazy fine detailing and a working switch! Wasn’t expecting that!Packaging is really premium. A must for any Videogame fanatic. Sits with my collectibles at work on my desk (wife won’t let me have them in the house).Shipped fast.

Have to say this is so sexy and looks good next to my boxed full size mega drive. The build of the unit is amazing and has been well done. Looking forward to the next release.

Really nice display piece. Looks perfect. I have it displayed with my original model one and the sega classic mini. And it's equally as good looking to those the dimensions and detailing are spot on. The only sad thing is it's listed as the first in the collection. But it looks like there will be no more to add.
