To test it, I took one of the nuts and placed it next to a magnet, and the magnet pulled it right out of my fingers. I should have listened to my gut because these nuts have a bright finish, and it makes no sense to give stainless steel a bright zinc coating.Yes, I know that the 400 series stainless steel is magnetic, but the fact that these nuts rusted after a few months shows that it's not stainless at all.
