VTech CS6709 Accessory Cordless Handset, Silver/Black | Requires VTech CS6719, CS6729, CS6829, or CS6859 Series Phone System to Operate

I have just bought this accessory phone to go with my regular "base" phone V-Tech CS6719. The instructions need to be clearer -- they do not specifically say to register the phone by placing it in the BASE charger, and NOT in the accessory charger. I struggled with this for a while until I finally went to the V-Tech website and found that instruction! Then it worked quickly and beautifully and I am now just leaving it alone for the 11 hours so the battery can charge as it should.I'm also hoping that my sleep apnea C-pap machine, which has an electronic feature enabling my doctor's office to make direct contact, will not interfere with the new phone placed next to it, as it may have contributed to the recent failure of my old Uniden cordless phone placed in the same position. But I have no other place to put it. Does anyone else have any phone interference from C-pap electronics?

This phone is great and works well with my Vtech 6829 system. I was a bit concerned that it didn't register with the base unit immediately but it just took more time than I thought it would. I left it charging for 6 or 7 hrs, I'd forgotten about it actually, and when I tried it again it registered instantly as unit #3. It has all the features I wanted and seems to work well with the system. The sound is clear and I think with the ringer full up it is very loud so I dial it back a bit and it's fine with me. A great phone, my 1st Vtech phone. I'm impressed with the quality.

I bought this to add handsets to the base station I bought to replace a 10-year-old Vtech system I found quite adequate for my needs. After successfully registering the two handsets that came with the base station, I attempted to add this unit. The manual says "To Register, place handset in charger." I tried everything I could think of, but the units would not register. Finally, I trekked down to the basement where the base was installed next to my VOIP modem. Placing the add-ons in the base station, they registered on the first try.These are inexpensive, and you get what you pay for. If you don't have to talk for hours at a time, the system is quite satisfactory.

I was so happy to find a replacement handset for a phone I'd bought at least 5 years ago. The setup to pair it with the existing system was quick and easy, and it charged up quickly. This will extend the life of my phone for a good number of years. Thank you, VTech for continuing to stock these phones and components.

I bought this because it lists this as compatible but Vtech company which i called said 6709 is Not. I spend a whopping 50$ for a handset I have to return!! You don't even answer at the phone # you added to the package in a typed but torn paper.

I bought the the set that extended to 2, but found that I needed a third in the office. I don't just like having a cell phone. This is mostly a telemarketer catcher. It was a little difficult to get it to register on the base. You really need to charge it overnight, it took three tries to register it on the original main base. Nothing to it really. Just wait for a second, it says registering. And then it beeps and says registered.First 2 times it said it failed--so try, try again. Your saved numbers are there. You might have to get your ringers and hearing tone. set up. Made my life easier instead of running to another room to see who is calling.

Thought there would be a message light on the base but just the icon on the screen. Also you can not change the name of the phones to Kitchen, Bedroom, etc. They are named Handset 1, 2 ,3 ...Most of all V-tech models have answering which I don't want since I have voicemail. They work fine but would have probably gone with Panasonic which I think has models with these features.

I got this phone to pair with the base that we currently have at my business. Set up was a little challenging as I believe it was locked into another base (I bought a warehouse refurb unit from amazon). A few YouTube videos later and I was able to figure out how to unpair whatever base it was connected with, and paired to my base. Once that was figured out, setup was extremely easy! Rings when it should, answers great, sounds great! Couldn't ask for a better extension.
