Wonderful!
I was given the opportunity to read this book for free. The only stipulation was that I give an honest review. Having read and enjoyed a number of Martin Meadows other books this sounded like a good deal to me. After reading a chapter or two I purchased my own copy because the free format didn't permit me to highlight passages and there were so many passages that I could easily have highlighted most of the book. It is filled with gems to read over and over.I consider myself to be an intelligent, mature, professional woman but self-discipline has always been a problem for me. My plans are well thought out and I start off with enthusiasm but at the first signs of discomfort I find myself caving in and giving up.Mr Meadows book is clear and well written. It gets to the point without being preachy. It is filled with inspiration and the hope that we all have the capability to change ourselves. Somehow, self-discipline seems an obtainable goal when he describes it. I may never become as disciplined as he but I can now see myself as a work in progress rather than a disciplinary failure. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to improve themselves and enjoy a good read at the same time.

Holistic Approach
I like that the author looks at this holistically and doesn't just repeat what other wise people far long ago said and like that there were exercises to try and help with the chapter subjects.

Practical. Ignite it again. Get your discipline back.
Great book. Is currently helping me overcome some bad habits that are keeping me from achieving my goals. It all comes down to being willing, forcing yourself if necessary, to do what u dont want to do to get the rewards that you want to get.I've been a self-improvement nut for going on 20 years, but over the last five or six years I've started to let things slip as I've got into a comfort zone, meaning having plenty of time and plenty of money. And yes, I was able to get myself into that Comfort Zone by being a self-improvement nut and being disciplined! But that comfort zone has lead to a lack of self-discipline. Lack of self-discipline has lead to guilt. Guilt leads to feelings of being less than worthy. This book has helped to reignite my passion and desire to make myself a better person for myself, my family, those around me and those in my businesses.Practical.

What I like most about this book is the author doesn't waste ...
I am retired military, special operations type, and have studied and applied self discipline to many areas of my life. What I like most about this book is the author doesn't waste time typical "rah-rah you can do it fluff", he gets right to the point with specific ways to increase your self discipline in your daily life. He gives you points of research to validate his points and is a straight shooter telling you it takes work. He could give many more examples and add pages to the book, but the concepts are applicable to any are you want to improve.

VERY HAPPY THAT I READ IT
I bought this book completely by chance not knowing what it would be like and I must say that it was a very happy stroke of luck. The book is easy to read, goes directly to the point, you will not find here “ultra profound philosophy “ but instead many “common sense” advice. I like much

There's only 1 thing missing for 5 stars...
This book has a lot to offer, but the one thing missing is your effort. Like everything associated with self-improvement or personal development, all the great books of the world are only as good as the efforts we take to implement their wisdom.Martin's books are the same. The difference is that his books teach you how to set into action those things that are wise to do. It is the closest to getting a push from behind to start moving toward your goal.Easy to read, and understand, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to go past reading about how to change and actually start changing for the better.

Straight forward
I'm not sure this book had any new information, but what it did have was a straightforward approach and a conversational tone. There were exercises after each section to help improve discipline which ranged from fairly easy to something to really work at. Interesting read. I'm def going to put into practice.

Meadows Incorporates Much of What Other Self-Help Authors Leave Out
When you read Martin Meadows' perspectives on self-discipline, he takes the reader through the process aiming toward success. The aspect he includes that makes him head and shoulders superior to writers that either throw all sunshine - I know you CAN" - or stop short of exploring human nature - Just believe it and it will happen. Meadows provides the reader with permission to be human while aspiring to master self-control. His guidelines are actionable and the narrative is relatable. A useful read.

It's less than 100 pages and not great.
This has a few interesting points but with 50 pages of single line source notes and two tables of contents and duplicate pages, it is less than 100 pages actually. On the pages that are actually part of the advertised book, the author writes a lot of "I've already said this in ... my other book (handy link to buy that) so I won't give you any details here".A few basic points but it lacks the detail to explain actually how to do the things he suggests and you'd need to buy one of his many, many other books and chance that he doesn't just do the same again. The answer to build your discipline? Have more discipline... It's a bit too vague to be useful for me :-/

Nothing new compared with first result on Google
I bought two books from this author "Daily Self-Discipline" and "Grit: How to keep going when you want to give up". I would not recommend any of these books. Within both of them, the author has ideas that contradict each other and the ideas are nothing new and can be found on the first page of Googling. The books contain so little information and it takes the author several pages to get to the point. The "Daily Self-Discipline" book it so scattered you don't know if you a reading a book about exercising or a recipe book. The author has references but don't go into deeper of any topics mentioned and its hard to distinguish what is fact and just the authors believe.Thankfully I finished a couple of days because the author has instead of filling the pages with proper information he decided to use double the spaces between the words and triple space between the sentences, meaning the number of pages the books contains is closer to a fourth of a what a regular book contains.

Straight to the Point
Really good read. Lots of ideas and strategies that work. I totally agree everything about discipline starts with health and fitness. Martin carefully crafts techniques around attitudinal change. Very practical. Long enough to add value - short enough to be practical.

My favourite book
I read it again and again. If you are struggling with self discipline it's perfect book but you have to know the rules to use properly
