Helpful Setup Hints for Poweradd's WiFi Power Strip
Since another customer had trouble setting up their WiFi Power Strip, I’m including some set-up instructions. Setting up is a bit tricky, but try this. Download the SmartLife App and set it up, BEFORE attempting to set up the device. Once done, and ready to connect device— Go into the SmartLife App. +/Add Device. From ”Electrical” options, select ”Multiple Socket”. Turn the power on the WiFi Power Strip ON, turn it OFF, wait 10 sec, turn the power back on, and then press the tiny black, protruding button, located to the right of where the power cord exits body of the power strip, for 5 seconds. —You should be performing such, while installing the "Multiple Socket" ELECTRICAL device on the SmartLife App.— Once the light beside the cord begins blinking, the app will prompt you to enter the passcode to your home's WiFi network, which must be a 2.4G network. (Another mode of connecting is ”AP Mode”— Same process; once blinking, click Confirmation button; click ”Go connect”; connect to SmartLife hotspot; enter password for your 2.4G network; app will connect & switchover to your WiFi network.) After doing so, the blinking light will turn a SOLID GREEN.There will be a prompt to name the device. After naming, an image of the WiFi Power Strip will appear on the app. The On/Off switch will be lit, and each outlet will be lit. Next to each outlet will be a solid, lit circle, with the same Power symbol as is on the On/Off switch, and an identifier: Switch 1, for the outlet closest to On/Off switch. As outlets descend and approach USB ports: Switch 2, Switch 3 and Switch 4. Unlike the MeRoss Smart Power Strip MSS425, Poweradd USB ports cannot be controlled via WiFi. I could be incorrect, but ONLY the grounded outlets are "smart"-- perhaps, SmartLife needs to create an icon option that includes USB ports on its Multiple Socket electrical outlet option, e.g. Multiple Socket; Multiple Socket w/ USB Ports; Electrical Outlet; Wall Switch; etc. For devices where the USB ports can be controlled via WiFi, the framework would be in place for accessing them.Once connected and set up, pressing the On/Off Switch, on the app screen, turns ALL outlets off/on, simultaneously. (Whether this includes the USB ports, I haven't tested-- just got it. The white power indicator light, next to the USB ports remains solid & on, regardless of whether the main On/Off switch is on or off. As long as the power strip has power, is energised, the USB ports remain on.) Via the App, each Outlet Switch can be turned off or on, individually— there’s a white light below the physical outlet, on the power strip, which corresponds. Naming EACH switch doesn't seem to be possible. With the connection and setting up of the device out of the way, operation seems pretty straightforward— On/Off. SmartLife App offers various means of controlling devices, which should be explored. As I’m new to the App and Poweradd WiFi Power Strip, commenting on applications and usage is yet possible. The setup of my MeRoss devices, using the eHomeLife App was far easier, smoother, intuitive, and faster. Connecting to Alexa, via eHomeLife was also simple and easily accessible.Setting up the PowerAdd Power Strip in Alexa brought a very welcomed surprise! In Alexa, the entire power strip is setup and given a name, which controls the master ON/Off power switch. In addition to the main switch, Alexa discovered EACH INDIVIDUAL SWITCH!!! Consequently, I was able to NAME them, individually!! So, through Alexa linking to SmartLife, ALL 4 SWITCHES CAN BE NAMED and CONTROLLED, individually!! Being able to name each outlet/switch enables accessing and controlling them from another room, without using a handheld device. A convenient bonus!Hopefully, this helps. Good luck!

the bare minimum
It's just kind of cheap and poorly made. The listing isn't exactly honest either. It's connection to google home is... off. For instance, the usb ports are always on, so no remote control over those. You have to use an off-brand, poorly designed, app to get your phone to connect with it THEN connect that app to google home. The biggest problem though, is that it's faulty. Bu that I mean it just shuts off sometimes because... I don't know why. It's random. Maybe you gave it the stink eye or something.

Perfect product for first time home automation
Simple install. Instructions were too small to read.Setup was a snap, less than 10 min and most time was spent on firmware update.Alexa integration works great with Smart Life app.
